Question about Polycom SOUNDSTATION2 AVAYA 2490 CONFERENCE PHONE EXPANDABLE (230516375001)

Initializing problem of digital soundstation2 avaya 2490

Dear Polycon,

 

I have a problem during installation of the digital SoundStation2 Avaya 2490

part number 2301-16375-601 rev.A, serial number H80641022FBC.

I connect the SoundStation2 through the interface module, on the 2-wire digital port administered as 6416D+.

When Power up the SoundStation2 the red LEDs on it are blinking all the time, the display is showing INITIALIZING all the time and never become READY.

The DIP switches 1,2,3 on the rear of the interface module are in ON position and it means A-law.  The system where I connect the SoundStation2 is DEFINITY G3 Version V8.

This product is new, so please give us some possible solution for this problem in order to resolving it.

    Dear technical support,



    THe polycom station2 AVAYA 2490 always shows initializing on the screen, I though it might problme with the digital voice port jack but I

    changed it never help. Please help.

8/20/10-I had a similar experience this morning when setting up an Avaya 2490 this morning. The 2490's display was showing initializing with continuous red blinking lights on the unit. I changed the cable that connects the interface unit to the wall jack with a standard category 5e patch cable and the unit began to work.

No it can't. One call at least must be dialed out to. Try using a conference bridge service if you want to have multiple parties call in to you. Then you and all guests only need to call bridge number which is usually toll free.

The Polycon Sound Station Premier coference phone is an analog device. You need to connect it to an analog port on your phone system.

We have a Avaya soundstation2 2490. We had to buy a new interface module and now we can't dial out. We can recieve calls.


have you verified the proper COR has been assigned to the station?

call you dial intra office extensions?

what is happening when you dial?

Soundstation2 direct connect ex for nortel


try repalcing the adapter if u have another one.this should solve the problem.if it doesnt , the main board needs repair!!

We cannot make an indirect call using polycon soundstation2


it appears u have connected it to the epabx extension. when u try nos first & then press call, the unit dials the nos so fast that it does not understand ur access number (0 or 9) for dialling out.for this u need to give a pause between the access number ( 0 or 9 to get the dial tone for diallin an external no)this is available on the keypad as pause / redial & then out the number & press call.the prob should get fixed!

confirm that you select aux input in your soundstation2.-if your problem excit change audio cord between receiver output and the aux.

LCD Display keeps flashing "INITIALIZING"


It needs to be plugged into a properly configured Avaya Definity digital port / wall jack. (NOT a regular telephone line as this can damage the polycom!!!) Does another Avaya digital phone work in that jack? If it does then call polycom for a RMA and eturn the phone under warrenty. If another Avaya digital phone does also does not work you need to check the PBX configuration or there is a wiring error at the jack or the PBX.
