Problem with device menu & remote

I have a Mitsubishi 65711 tv and the device menu is stuck on SAT (satellite). It won't let me select any other devices. On top of this, the remote doesn't work. I've tried programing the remote with the codes and changing the batteries, but this didn't work. Geek squad tells me that it might have something to do with the input selector board?

Thank you so much. The remote works the tv properly now. Please let me know if you figure out the problem with the manual switches on the tv.

Remove the front trim plate below the manual switches, may have to remove the speaker covers to access this area, remove the switch mounting plate 3 screws, turn switches over and unplug the little white electrical connection for the switches. TV should work perfect with the remote now. Not sure what is wrong with the switches just yet, but suspect a resistor problem.

It appears the manual switches are "leaking" voltage to ground, in my case, the device switch. Solution is to replace the switch, preferably all of them, and it should work OK, then. Or, the other option is to simply leave the switch board unplugged, use the remote.

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi 65711 HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.

I hope that helps.

The tv is jammed. Remote is fine but have pressed the wrong button

It sounds as though you might have just accidentally pressed a button and changed the remote into an incorrect mode for example, tv, or aux modes. This would in fact prevent the remote from successfully working with the DISH Network receiver. If this is in fact the problem, then the remote simply needs to be put into "SAT" mode, once its back in SAT mode you will then be able to change channels, select menu, power receiver on and off, etc. The "SAT" button is labeled & in the upper left hand corner of the remote to put the remote back in satellite mode, please just press that SAT once and then release, the SAT button should briefly light up red & then the light will go out, you should then be able to use the remote again, to ensure remote was successfully changed back to SAT mode, you can press select or any other button you chose & as long as the SAT button lights up when you press another remote control button- then your all set to go & everything should be working once again! I hope this helps -please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!
