Hi, I would be happy to assist you with your issue. DISH receivers are equipped with an "Inactivity Standby" feature which will place the receiver in a standby mode if the remote is not used in specified amount of time. The reciever does allow you to set the amount of time or if you would like, you can diaable the feature. This can be accessed by pressing the Menu button on the DISH remote and then select "Preferences" and then "Updates".
