Enter function Hi I have programmed the scanner to add the enter function after the barcode is scanned. Is there any way to program another enter after that one? eg: we scan the barcode, the barcode is entered in the box and the enter function sends it to the next window ( this is where we need the next enter ) so it will then finish the entry and we can scan another barcode without having to run back and forth to the keyboard as we could be several meters away.

I have two scanners. One worked fine until I tried to turn off the enter option, now it adds }w before every barcode. The second just beeps four times with a red light which stays on. I got it to work at one point, but it had the }w before barcodes. Now it just beeps with a red light again. I have tried defaulting both multiple times, and I even downloaded symbols program which doesn't even recognize the scanner. They are so out of date that the support center basically wished me the best of luck. I have run out of ideas.I have two scanners. You will have many issues doing this, the best way is to create a barcode with all this info in it. Its normal to have 1 or 2 post amble events but not that many.
Symbol barcode scanners by default do not add a return after a scan. You need to program the scanner to add a suffix.

There is not a barcode to simulate the enter key. You have to program the scanner to add the C/R (carriage return) to the end of the data that it sends. This is just a simple programming step. The users guide that came with the scanner will have a section in it with barcodes to scan to program the unit to perform differently. Each model scanner is a little different but the process is about the same. Enter programming mode, scan the C/R barcode, exit programming mode. Now when you scan the barcode the scanner will automatically add the "enter" for you.

In your programming manual there is a barcode scan that needs to be scanned in that adds the carriage return function. To do this you will first need to scan the barcode to put the unit into program mode, then scan the carriage return barcode, then scan the end programming code. Now when you scan a barcode the scanner will add the return to the sequence it sends to the computer. If you can't find your programming book you can download the sheets from the Symbol web site.

There should have been a sheet or book of bar codes that came with your scanner. These codes will allow you to program your scanner to do most anything, including adding a tab. You simply look at the bar codes and read what they do. you simply scan the one that adds a tab and it will forever add the tab unless you re program it.
If you have lost your book/bar code page, you should be able to go to the manufacturer website and download/print a document with the programmable bar codes.
Print Adobe pages 128 and 129 of 302 of the M2000 Series Product Reference Guide and scan the "Scan Options" "Data Suffix" and "Enter" barcodes. The scanner will give two beeps after the first barcode, two beeps after the second and a warble after the third programming (Enter) barcode.
You would need to add an criteria or the rule, like barcode length or type. Than is the the scanner able to understand which barcode should be handled by the specific rule.
