I am having the same problem and it won't accept the location that I browse to. I have found the exact file it is looking for on the disk and have even copied it to the desktop and tried to browse to that location but it still acts like it doesn't see it.

Check to see if you have two versions of Office on the computer.
If it is a new computer I would bet it came with a tral if office on it.
We use to get this issue all the time.

Search the CD/DVD for that file name and read the path then browse the file during installation. it will be solved if this file is present there otherwise change the CD/DVD from the vendor from whom u brought it.

Have you done an clean installation or reset to factory settings.

1. If you have done an restore to factory settings then go to control panel / programmes and features and you will find a previous version of office preinstalled. Uninstal the programme and you should be able to install the application.

2. Copy the contents of the cd and create a new folder on desktop and paste the contents in the folder, remove the CD from the cd drive once when the copying is done. and then open the folder and double click on the file setup and carry on with the installation of office

If you are installing off a Disc, make sure the disc is clean and not scratched.
If you are installing from files downloaded, you may have a damaged file, you may need to try and download a new copy

Cant find Infopath/ file in location...

What is the source of installation do you use to install Office (CD or Download source)?
If you are installing using the disc create a new folder on the computer, copy the entire contents of the disk to a new folder on the desktop and then run the installation from the setup file in the folder and check if it works fine.
If it is a download source file, try extracting the download file using the steps mentioned below and then try to install and check if you are able to install Office.
Click Start, Search programs and files, Drag and drop the .exe file to the Run window and type '/extract' without quotes
Now try to install Office by double clicking on setup.exe
Refer the link below to know how to extract .exe files:
