The router password can be change if you try inputting 192.168.0.1 in the command line of the Internet Explorer.
You may need another set of numbers if the router is other than a Cisco product. It could be 192.186.1.1 or 192.168.1.0 also.
You did not specify what Router you were using?

Tried to reset password..seemed easy enough,done.. reset router name easy, reset password easy. reset ssid easy..in fact my password was the same for everything to make things easy. Now i go downstairs...
Router paswords are chase and space senitive, Reset the router and choose a different password that not been used. then repower the router, and connect using the new password.

Check router manufacture box in which the router came
Normally default is
username: Admin
Password:Admin
Install the router sofware it will give you instruction about setting password. Still if unable to find password contact tech support for the router .

Yes you can. I do believe for the Linksys router the username is left blank and the password is 'admin'. Please give this a try.

Cannot login and have reset....
use the console cable . By using this u can able to go inside the router and after going inside just give the respective IP and after giving the ip to the router u can access the router by using Internet Explorer .

If you haven't setup a username and password on this router before.

Then it's probably using the factory default username and password, for that visit the manufacturer's website.

If you have setup a username and password before on this router, but forgotten what the password is. Give the router a hard reset. How to do that can be found in the manual.
