Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Panasonic TV - no picture, but sound is ok

The picture on my panasonic tv is not working.  There is a very thin line accross the middle of the screen when you press the menu button or switch to a video input, but other than that - no picture.
Other than that, the sound and other functions seem to be working - as far as I can tell.

Is there any suggestions?

I have a panasonic CT-27G32V and there is no picture, but we have sound. Before it went out completely, there would be a thin white horizontal line across the screen. Initially the thin white line would spread to the entire screen and the picture would return, but now the entire screen stays black. What to do? and is it worth repairing?

it is due to vertical section failure.

  • before you start any work reduce brightness to avoid crt burn.
  • please check some loose contact or loose connector.
  • check supply to vertical section
  • check parts in vertical output section
  • check vertical ic.
  • hope this will help.
  • good luck.

White line horizontially through middle of picture

A repair like this is in the vertical drive/output section of the TV set. It could be a simple capacitor causeing this problem or a combination of the capacitor and the output IC. A repair like this should not exceed 120 to 150 US. Is it worth that to you? How much can you replace it for? Good Luck PS please dont forget to rate this thread.
