Check your mic connections ,make sure there are no broken wires.

IF YOU CANT RECIEVE THAT IS A VERY GOOD SIGN THAT YOUR SWR MATCH IS OFF....I DONT KNOW IF YOU MATCHED UP YOUR RADIO WITH YOUR ANT.IF NOT YOU CAN BUY A CHEAP SWR METER @ RADIO SHACK...CHECK THAT YOUR COAX CABLE IS OK TRY TO REPLACE THE COAX......GOOD LUCK

I dropped my radio shack 446 trc cb and now it wont turn on what should i check first
approach this logically. First make sure the fuse in the power cord isn't broken and if it is replace it and maybe the radio will work. second , take and remove the microphone , now with a multimeter insert one probe into the antenna jack and with the other probe you start touching those pins for the mic. make sure you have the meter set for ohms sound . Now if you hear a tone then there is some contact through the board . press on the center of the board to see if you loose contact and if you do ,now comes the fun. Get out your magnifying glasses and look for the crack in the board. once you have found it you should bridge that crack with a resister and recheck for power. repeat the process and as long as there is no change you are good to go.

Trc 446
with this radio,I would probably go and buy another . It will be cheaper than having someone fix it.give more information about what its doing or not doing and maybe some one will give you the help you need but I would buy a better radio.

Need mic wiring diagram for trc-446
you may have to order one from radio shack because the wireing diagram is for that radio and mic only . You cannot use another mic on that radio , only the one that comes with it . If you are patient enough and have another mic with the same controls you could wire it up. it has to be ( I think a 6 pin ) ???

The weather/alert light stays on when cb is turned on, is it supose to be on when not listening to weather and is this radio supose to sound an alarm when put out a weather alert? the light blinks is it....

We have the same radio.The weather light is suppose to stay on as long as it has a stable wx signal and it does beep and blink when it gets a warning from noaa. This unit is working just as it was designed to and mine is a great radio.

do you get any other sound from the speaker?
check squelch settings
does external speaker work?
If yes - internal speaker is bad
If No - either the Audio Amp chip is bad or the external speaker socket is bad
