My hp deskjet f380 is not scanning.

To scan, you need the HP Photosmart software installed (you can download it from HP at the link below). Start HP Photosmart, then put your original in the scanner and press the "Scan" button. You can scan multiple sheets, when you're done, click "done" and the files will be saved as JPEGs in the My Scans folder in My Documents.

If you have Vista as your operating system, Windows Vista provides a basic set of scanning drivers, also referred to as Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) drivers, that you can use as an alternative to scan a document when you cannot scan using the HP drivers. You can still scan with one of the following methods:

HP Deskjet F380 All-in-One Compatible with vista

I had the same problem. I could print, but not scan.

However, if you open up Paint and go to file and scan, it will scan your document. For some reason, using the scan button on the printer itself will not work with Vista, but using Paint will. I also heard that using Windows fax and scan will also work.
good luck

F380 all-in-one scan problem

I have this problem w/a different printer adding it to a computer w/OS Vista. Go to Start, All programs, Accessories, Paint and open that program. Click on File and then From Scanner or Camera. Make sure your all in one is turned on. Unfortunely, there is no fix to make the scanner button work if it is not compatable, such as my 'all in one' w/Vista. Hope this helps. Linda
