My under the counter ice machine makes very little ice. we just paid $600 to have a repairman put a new motor in it (although I don't think that was ever the problem) because it would always run, it was just not making any volume of ice. now it's been fixed and the repairman brought it back under th counter yesterday and it's STILL not making more than maybe 1 cup of ice in over 24 hours. I can hear the water running when Iopen it, but just don't get the bin full of ice like it used to get. HELP!!

You can't adjust it to make ice faster.  It should make 8 cubes about every two hours.  After it fills look and see how many cube molds are filled with water.  It may be that the tray is not getting full.  If it isn't filling the whole tray then you have a low water pressure to the fridge issue.  The most common problem I see is people use a self-piercing saddle valve on the water line and they get plugged and this drops the water pressure to the fridge.  If you have a self-piercing valve it needs to be changed to a drill type saddle valve.  If the saddle valve is the correct one and the tray doesn't fill all the way then replace the water valve on the fridge.  Let me know what you find.

This sounds like the same problem I have with my new LG French Door fridge (model LFC25776ST): it is making ice very slowly. The installation tech hooked the fridge to an existing line that was behind the old fridge. We had never used the line in the eight years we have lived in the house. The exisitng fridge we inherited when we moved in didn't have an icemaker. I don't even know if the sadlle valve is open all the way or not (is it supposed to be "tight" when it is open and "loose" when it is closed? I'm not very good at home repair, but I don't know if this a fridge problem or a plumbing problem - who should I call first? I didn't buy the extended warranty...

Can this ice maker be set to make more ice? And faster?

Icemakers cycle cubes from the air temperature inside the freezer so you can't do much to increase speed except adjust the freezer control colder. As to the bucket not filling, most icemakers have a feeler arm or plastic paddle that is suppose to sense the ice level in the bucket. Make sure the feeler arm or paddle at the bottom is free and no sticking or hitting anything. It needs to move freely ask the icemaker dumps the cubes. If your refrigerator is less that a year old it should be under warranty and a free repair to you.

Ice maker not making ice

The icemaker line is the smaller line (1/4") located in the back of the machine that runs from the valve to the filll tube. To test the valve and icemaker you have to manually advance the ice maker and wait for it to call for water with the 1/4" line disconnected from the valve. You can do this by getting a jumper wire, removing the cover of icemaker, which you jsut grab and pull off, and using the jumper wire insert one end of the wire into the cirle marked "M" and the other in the cicle marked "N". Leave there until you hear a click and sometimes see a little spark behind the modular head wheel. Also if you see ice in the maker that hasn't dumper and the teeth of the icemaker are facing any direction other than two o clock position, the icemaker is bad. Before doing any of the above though check the fill tube to be sure the no ice is blocking water from coming in.

My Kenmore refrigerator (596.52673200) is making a noise every 3 minutes or so for about 15 seconds. It seems like it is trying to fill the ice maker. There was ice in the little rubber tube leading to the...

Put the icemaker arm in the lock position to turn it off.
If it is the icemaker making the noise, the noise should stop.
If the noise stops, replace the icemaker.
If it does not stop, let us know.

My icemaker has stopped receiving water

it sounds like your water valve is bad. you have a double water valve - one side operates the ice maker and the other side operates the water dispenser. the ice maker side of the valve is bad.

you can manually pour a little water in the ice maker ice mold and wait an hour or so - if it dumps the ice then you know for sure that the ice maker is cycling and water is not getting to the ice maker from the water valved

Whirlpool IceMagic Plus not working.

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it dumps the ice but doesn't refill , replace the ice maker . If it doesn't dump , and the cubes stay in the ice maker , replace the ice maker .

The switch on the icemaker for normal , runs the icemaker normaly . In the ice plus , a small fan comes on , blowing the inside air , over the ice maker mold , to help it freeze faster .

Ice maker

remove the front plastic cover on the icemaker and you will see a bunch of little holes make a jumper wire out #10 or 12 house wire strip about 1/4 inch off the ends an insert in the holes marked t&h this will start a test cycle make sure you hold the plastic insulation so you don't get bit if the ice maker starts cycling remove the wire and watch for it to stop listen for the icemaker valve to open if the ice maker finishes and the valve didn’t fill replace the water valves if the icemaker doesnt cycle and you may have to kind of twist the jumper back and forth to get it to make contact depending on the gauge you used then replace the ice maker motor module if you hear the valve open and the ice maker doesnt fill check for a frozen ice fill tube that should do it
