take a good look on the page and do not download the driver updater that has a big download icon under the driver list ...go way down the page ..and fill the security code and than download driver ... it is for the 4200 series and the name is RealTek Audio Driver v5.10.0.5202

Check the lamp, I suspect it could be cheaper than the inverter but done is done... Is there current at all to the inverter and the lamp?

You could try to do a system restore to a date near to purchase. It is normally under start --> accessories --> system tools. Backup all your data before doing a system restore!!

The model number you are looking for is an HBL51 LA-3081P. You can get it at notebookparts.com for $399.00 plus shipping (and no I don't work or shill for these guys - I've just done business with them before and they are good at what they do.

At a cost of 399.00 are you sure it's economical to replace the mainboard on this unit? You could get a new Dell or Toshiba for not very much more.

Go to the Acer WEB site to download the drivers you need, make sure it is Windows XP or Vista version for your particular MODEL laptop.

Is the radio turned off? There should be a button or Fn button combination that allows you to turn your radio on and off. Try that.
