Question about OKI MICROLINE 320 Turbo Matrix Printer

1 Answer

Page advance problem

The Microline 320 OKI Turbo 9 Pin Printer I have advances more than a page... after printing a page.

The page I'm printing (on tractor feed paper) is 8.5 wide x 5.5 high. After printing this bill, the tractor feed should advance to the top of the next perforated page. Instead, it advances about a page and a half.

I tried changing the height and width to standard 8.5 x 11, but that didn't correct the problem.

What settings do I need to change in "Page Setup" to correct this problem? Or.. is the correction somewhere else?

Print out your menu of the printer and load the IBM Proprinter driver in windows ,your printer default driver is IBM Proprinter this will sort out the problem.you have probably loaded a OKI driver while the printer is set for IBM.Hope this helps.

I try to print and the paper won't advance, prints everything on one line.

The unit needs to be cleaned and vaccuumed, pay carefull attention to the paper feed rollers. You might consider getting a Service Manual for it, if you do here is a link.

Constant jamming recently

Could be 2 things..
First Check close and make sure there are not small bits of paper in the feeding arms rollers etc.. any place paper passes make 100% sure. Second adjust the tension from the feeding arm and make sure the paper path to the printer is clear.

You can also hit it with a few shots of Dustoff

Okidata Microline 320 Turbo Printer - forms don't maintain registration

On older printers, tractor feed edges separate from the page while printing. Sometimes this can be a fluke, but other times it may point to a mechanical problem. Try taking the paper out of the printer and hitting the form feed button a few times. Watch the printer’s tractor feeds to make sure they are moving and are in synch with each other. Some printers use belts to move the tractor feeds and, over time, these belts wear, break, become smooth and slip, or become misaligned.

Environment can also contribute. Paper stored in a warehouse can weaken in intense heat or moisture. Carbon copy paper will especially cause this type of problem as one sheet's feeder edge can break away from the rest and peel slightly back. This will in turn slow the feed on one side as the edge buckles slightly under and may even skip to release pressure causing major alignment problems.

Alarm light Microline 320 Turbo 9 pin printer - won't print

We swapped out the printer for another one we had in the office that was working. The new printer also got the alarm light. From that we concluded that it was a bad serial card. We swapped the serial card from another printer, and the original printer started working perfectly. Now we just need to find out where we can purchase another serial card, as we have no more 'spares' around here.
