High pitch squeal, buzz, no picture

Panasonic TV. CT-32G13W. The last few weeks I have to restart the TV several times to get it to stay on. Picture starts out with horizontal lines - like the really old tv's would get when you needed to use the horizontal set. Then the picture gets green, then b&w, then finally comes on and stays on. This morning I got a nasty high pitch squeal, no picture, and now a buzz. It is now unplugged waiting to go to the dump unless there is a rather easy solution. Cheaper to buy a new one than repair this. THANK YOU MUCH.

Toshiba HD ready TV ct 90158 makes high pitched sound

A high pitch sound can be a capacitor losing power it would sound a bit like a fire work. most have back up on the board but it put more pressure on them the more times you use the tv. would check them and replace. all of them can be 5 in a row in some models.

Partial vertical collapse, picture and buzzing sound

Check the solder joints on the vertical IC. If you reflow the joints and the problem persists replace the IC. Buzzing sound may be the flyback or something dealing with high voltage. Take the back of the TV off and see where the sound is coming from and see if you can see anything when you turn the TV on. Stay away from the TV and don't touch anything when turning it on.

I have this exact same problem asked by robert_a_962, but I don't see a solution. Any ideas? "By robert_a_962 on Aug 18, 2010 My Panasonic CT 32D32F picture went out, and now when I turn the...

The high-pitch squeal is from the power supply, caused by a short circuit. The usual cause is a shorted horizontal output transistor. I believe this model uses a 2SD1556, but I'm not certain. I don't have the service manual for this model, but that part is used in several other 32- and 36-inch models.

While the horizontal output can fail on its own, it's usually because of other problems. A large-tube TV like this is hard to work on, and you might want to let a professional technician check it and give an estimate for the repair.

High pitched noise

I am about to post a in depth guide about how to fix this problem. It's because a capacitor inside the TV has blown which causes the buzzing high pitched noise. It's really easy to fix however and only costs about £1 / $2 to sort out.

You can read a similar guide here http://www.fixya.com/support/r741402-polaroid_flm_373b_lcd_tv_black_screen but I will shortly be uploading a guide on the buzzing problem!

Buzzing sound, no picture on my Panasonic TV

You might have a short causing the set not to start. Probably in the horizontal/high voltage circuit. The buzzing sound that you're hearing is the power supply overloaded. Stargazer
