My Amana AFD2535DEW freezer problem

Do you have an Ice Maker? if you do, did you put something in the Freezer that is leaning on the Ice Maker Arm?

If the screws are still good, put some "lock tight" on them and tighten. This should fix the problem

if gear wheels are out of sink, give it a good twist till equil.
ifb it is the ballbearings in the rails replace hole rail, wize to do both sides at one time.

Replaced Freezer Fan as per process attached

If unit has an ice maker it could be getting stuck

check the water inlet valve located in the back of the ref where the water line hooks up 9 times out of 10 that's where the problem is

Mine did the same thing about two years ago. It turned out, my problem was the little motor that opens the vent in the refrig portion to let the cold air in from the freezer went bad. A&E service tech said this was common. Cost about $90 to fix. Haven't had the problem anymore.

either the evaporator coil behind the freezer compartment wall is iced over and you can';t move cold air over an iced up evaporator coil to cool the refrigerator compartment or the compressor relay/overload is bad

fan blade hitting ice or something like that. check blades to make sure not ice on them. nedd check blade clearance.

I had the same issue. It was the relay overload which essentially provides the extra boost to get the compressor going. The switch tries for about 10 seconds before giving up and then retries 3 - 4 minutes later. In the early stages of failure, eventually it will work and the compressor will kick on. But eventually the switch will fail and will just cycle through the 10 second attempt every 3 to 4 minutes. The part is about $35 - part number 67005560.
