Hi, I have exactly the same problem. However, instead of getting a new body with a broken screen and exchanging my screen (One of the only ways round it) I thought I'd try something.

I folded a piece of paper (Quite a small piece) and put in on top of the card when it is popped. I then just closed the battery/card cover and it stayed in place. This is a cheap way of fixing it, it's now been fine for a while, it's a bit of a shoddy fix but it's better than paying nikon £50 to get it fixed.

It takes a couple of trys, getting the paper the right size was a little bit of a pain but it now works fine.

Good luck,
J

I had the same problem with my Olympus sp-550uz. I took your recommendation and it did take a few tries to get the paper right and get the memory door closed but it worked. Thank you so much I was tring to decide what to do with it as it was $150.00 or so to get it fixed at Olympus. I am so happy!!! Thank you so much

SD card won't stay in the slot of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-SL80

is the lock on the card by chance. also depending on how old the camera is and how big the sd card is in gb. the lumix may not be able to handle that size of card, too many gb. My lumix would only accept up to 4 gb, so when I moved to 16 they did not work.

My nikon coolpix s210 camera wont download pictures, and when i plug it in, nothing pops up like it usually does. what do I do?

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Can nikon colpix S210 be used for webcam.

You can't. The S210 was designed as a camera, storing high-resolution pictures (and videos) to a memory card. It was not designed to stream low-resolution videos live to another device.

New 4GB Skandisk card, no memory and no images message

Hi,
Make sure the write protect lock is off by taking the card out of the camera, face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab down, it will be at the side of the card like this 59a6de4.jpg . Pop it back in the camera and use the menu to format the card.
Hope this helps
