Question about Epson Stylus 1400 InkJet Photo Printer

Printing i just brought a new epson 1400 series printer when i print a picture the size of 4 x 6 the picture is great. when i print a picture the size of 13 x 34 the picture is great. when i print a picture the size of 8 1/2 x 11 the color is way off. all the dirt comes out red. i have tried different paper and the epson paper come out better but still red and not brown. if i print the same picture on my old hp printer it comes out good. hope you can help me with this. this is the 2nd one that i have tried. thank you betty [email protected]

Hello,
probably the printer takes his own color-profiles installed by epson.
Click on propriaties of the printer and create your own color-profile for diferent sizes.
you can take the color-profile from a smaler size and save it choosing an other size.
So You also can improove your pictures by changing the color-profile after your needs...
but then you should use the same paper , because different papers give different colors.
you can also improove the colors by choosing-on the profile-another type of paper.

When you see this message you need to replace the parts or buy a new printer. It cost more to replace those parts that a brand new printer. All Epson's are like this . I had 4 Epsons and all 4 done this same thing. They are great printers but unfortunately they are like this.

How do I enlarge the print on an Epson Stylus CX9400 fax series?

the printing wizard it has the size choice ...but the actual size its established by the limitations of the printer ..anyway all documents may be re-sized in the computer and than printed...even in pieces and reattached after if the printer supports only A4 paper maximum

The problem can be two fold. Wrong cartridges, or blocked/damaged inkjet openings. Return it to the seller under warranty if its brand new. If it was fitted with non epson cartridges your warranty may be in question.

But I could almost guarantee the black qand the blue cartridges are faulty or their feed jets are

Epson 1400 won't print blacks

Hi

Many problems regarding Ink with Epson relate to using cheap ink consumables. I recommend you buy original Epson black ink catridge. I know its more expensive but you should see the black ink clear.

Be sure to run head alignment and clean printer option first with the current black ink then replace with the new original Epson ink catridge

Printer cacelling job half way through

Try buying a new usb printer cable, just a thought - could have a dodgy connection.... Also - try a different pusb port on your computer.

What kind of Port is the printer hooked up to? Computer should have usb port to printer. You also may be printing at 2800 dpi instead of the lesser quality with very little change in picture slower speed. Check those things and let me know if you've resolved the issue.

EPSON 1400 PRINT HEAD

Printheads on that EPSON...as almost all Epson brand printers are IMPOSIBLE to change. Are made for waste containers! It's trgough. If you can change head on that, maybe in a bit less than 200 hours! It's NOT a joke! Better, i nought a K8400 HP large format...It's 4 seconds to change heads. Also, they are cheap price and LAST very very long...but NEVER let any inkjet printer without printing all 4 colors for a minimum of 1 page in 3 weeks. Heads would dry. If you care you'll print with the K8400 for about 100,000 pages.
