I have a Kenmore 90 Series washer Model number 20922991. The knobs for all the different water temps. work such as Warm/Cold, Cold/Cold, etc. When I turn the knob to Hot/Cold no water comes out. Please advise. Thank you.

Re: Hot/Cold water knob will not work on washing machine
Does the water flow when you have it on warm or cold settings? If on warm setting and water flow is cold, its probably the mixing valve. This part isnt that expensive, and not that hard to replace. Remove the two front console caps, remove the two console hold down screws then flip the console out and then over the top. You will see two gold cabinet hold down clamps, pop them out, the lift the whole cabinet off the unit. You will see the mixing valve right where the inlet hoses connect to the machine. Let me know if you need further help.

Rinse on most washers is cold water your wash cycles can be cold hot and even warm. Problem You may have is a bad water feed valve Or Timer and possible bad wire harness at motor to timer
check water valve Turn washer to regular wash cycle pull knob on will washer fill ?
if water starts to fill then change washer temp if washer has this.
if water comes out on all settings water valve is fine.
Check the water both hot and cold that it is turned on;at faucet.
Your Kenmore Most likely has a bad water valve check for hot water side clog or not working.
The first thing to check are the screens at the inlet of your washer hoses. Turn off water supply to washer then remove the hoses at the washer side, then look into the inlet valves and you should see one screen in each hose inlet, carefully pry out the screens and clean in the sink then reinstall screens and the hoses and check for leaks.. this should speed up your cold water fill, you may still have to replace the control switch or solenoind valve assy to get your hot water..Easy job hope this helps GOOD LUCK
so if you set the knob to cold then the knob would automatically move to hot correct first thing to do is check the water valve which is where your hot and cold hoses connect to inside the machine you get to this from inside the machine by removing the cover one side f the valve is hot and one side is cold take a multi meter and check to assure that when you do set the selection to cold that you are getting power to the top of the valve on the cold side if you are not getting any power to the cold side of the valve replace the valve if you are getting power to the cold side the next thing t check would be that switch that is your selector nob for this you would have to go into the area where your timer is located and check for any burn spots on the small electronic piece that is on the back side of the switch most of the time it is the valve that goes bad and it is a rarity that the switch would go bad but it is possible please remember to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation and if you have anymore questions please message me back have a great day
your hot water goes through the water heater so contaminates settle in the heater. the cold does not, there is a screen inside the fill valve where the hose hooks to the valve on the machine. if this in not plugged then the fill valve will have to be replaced. because of the build up of contaminates..
I have had this happen on a Kenmore in the past, and it was the motor coupling. It is a plastic part, and if it cracks your washer will not spin anymore. If you have the repair parts list, or can find it online, you will find the part I am referring to. Good luck.
