RECENTLY ALL THE MUSIC WAS ERASED BUT MEMORY OF HDD 1630 APPEARS TO BE FULL BUT THERE ARE NO FILES ON IT. I TRIED REPAIRING IT WITH THE PHILIPS ADMINISTRATOR PROGRAM BUT IT DIDNT RESET MEMORY
YEAh, go to home depot and buy the bigger hammer, the put your mp3 player on a table and smash that good **** piece of **** and go to the store and buy a mp3 player once again Note: repeat the same process any time you jhave te same problem. Hans www.hanscontreras.com
Go to my computer open the Philips icon till you get to the music file delete it. Unplug the player from the usb cable and then reattach it. It will then show a new music file and 5.7 space available. All of your music will be gone.........but it was gone anyway. Ideally you should go to Philips and download the HDD1630/17b software and firmware and print off the instructions and redo your player. I did and it works great!!!!!
Power button and Volume up works
You need to use the device Manager which should be on the cd rom you got with the player. This will then show all available memory.

I already use the device manager and doesn't show how much memory I have available,
I'm having the same problem. I tried these steps, but my music file would not delete. Therefore, the problem continues to exist. Anymore suggestions?
