Question about Samsung LE Televison & Video

Samsung LE32R7 very low brightness, reddish, picture

Picture is barely visible. Playing around with the picture settings doesn't affect it very much. Happens randomly in use and then switch back to normal just as randomly.

Please check the ribbons between TCON and panel. There seems some loose connection problem.

I had this problem too, fortunately I have a sky engineer friend who told me it is a known compatibility issue, all you need to force the latest firmware upgrade down to your sky box and hey presto, it will fix it. It depends on the type of box you have as to how to force the firmware download, but just google it and you'll find the combination of keys to press that will put the sky box into receiving a new firmware upgrade from sky.

Hope it helps you, it did me cos it was driving me crazy

Your TV is in DEMO-STORE MODE.
Go to menu, find Plug & Play option, start it, and when asked, select Home Mode, than Enter and than just Exit.

I had a very similar problem, TV was 1 day old! Samsung engineer came out and replaced the motherboard - all sorted now.

I just purchased Samsung series 4 LCD TV yesterday. I had the same problem since my salesman was a kind of stupid. He set the 'Power save mode' to automatic. After fiddle with my TV for a while, I found the solution.
Just change the 'Power save mode' to off, low, normal or high. My LCD TV stopped shifting its brightness.
