Color is off in Sony KP-53HS10 Rear Projector TV

I have a 53" Sony projector TV. The color is not true and can't be adjusted propery with the user adjustments provided, like sharpness, color, etc.

Is there a chance there is an internal adjustment that is not part of the general user instructions.

My son noticed the color change after a small earthquake (4.2) about two weeks ago, leading me to suspect some type of internal lens/lamp adjustment might be required.

Who do I call for service if the answer is yes.

Hello!
Rainbow patter is caused by failing convergence IC's. Both of them have to be replaced and 6 PICO fuses (looks like resistors yellow in color, soldered into PCB) have to be checked and any open fuses have to be replaced. After replacement convergence have to be adjusted again and stored in memory.
It is impossible to upgrade resolution of your TV set.
Regards.

Removing the speaker grill from my Sony KP-53HS10

There are two screws (1/4 in. philips) located in the lower left and right front of the cabinet near the floor. They may be concealed by a plastic overlay. It can be popped off with a small screwdriver.

Be careful!

But first, please try to adjust the convergence on from the TV's menu, I hope is just a little adjustment, otherwise you will have to replace those 2 IC's,
