Need heat pump wiring diagram for carrier 38yka030300

This is a three ton heatpump must likely it is a 35/5uf capacitor. But if you can read compressor tag it will tell you size it requires and also fan label will do some for it.you will need to ask for a dual capacitor from supply house make sure you pay close attention to hoe wires hook up so you can wire in new on before removing wires make sure you have high voltage turned off to unit.take pic with phone this will help when you rewire

you have 24 volt across both terminals of contactor coil? if not and condenser is still running then you have a stuck contactor. also this is a heat pump so you have 24v and common going to out side unit and rodents or dogs may have chewed up wire and causing a short making connection and this would have blew transformer. FYI installing a 3 amp car fuse(spade type) installed in line of 24v coming off transformer will protect transformer as well as other components. your T-Stat may be defective as well.

Which coil?, indoor or out? Indoor coils freeze due to clogged filters, low freon, blower motor not working. Outdoor coil freezing could mean, in rare cases in cooling mode, reversing valve not shifting.

you likely have a "two stage" system, but not a two stage heat pump. the first stage is probably the heat pump itself, and the second stage is the auxilliary resistance heat that suppliments the heat pump at lower temps. if i knew the terminals that are available on the new stat, i could advise you on the proper wiring.

if your system is a heat pump you can switch to heat and see if coil outside gets cold while indoor blows warm air - then switch back to a/c - both coils should not be cold at the same time - low freon pressure / dirty coil / dirty filter / low air flow causes freezing

you probably purchased a 4 wire thermostat which we call heat/cool you stated you have 6 wires which signifies a heat pump you have to purcahase a heat pump thermostat and then write down the color of the wires to there related spots example...yellowe-y red-r white- w and so forth also before you do this kill the power the voltage typical for residential is only 24v's but if the wires touch you could blow a fuse
