Question about Sony RDR-VX555

Open Question

Synchro Record light wont go out

The synchro record light will not go out on my Sony RDR-VX555. Also it is stuck on DVD 1 and I can't change it to DVD 3. Nothing will work on the remote because of this. I've tried everything from unplugging the recorder for hours, to holding the power button down for more than 10 seconds. Nothing works.  It's like the recorder is stuck on some kind of mode. I know I could get it off of the synchro record if the remote would work but it won't let me change from DVD 1 to DVD 3. I've tried holding the enter button done and pressing 1. I've also tried holding the enter button down and pressing 3. Nothing works, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

P.S. I've been over page 22-23 in the manuel again and again :(

I need to know how to record 1 tape onto another tape on a Technics rs tr-575 dual cassette deck

press the synchro start button, the tape deck should now go to REC PAUSE, press the SPEED button till you get the required recording speed then press the synchro start again and it should start to record from deck 1 to deck 2.

make sure the tabs at the top of the tape you want to record on are intact,
if not just put a bit of sticky tape over holes.

hope this helps?

Hold the "Enter" button and press number 1 on the keypad simultaneously for more than 5 seconds. This takes you back to the "Settings" screen with the "Settings" button, change the control back to DVD 3, and reverse the setting in the remote by pressing "Enter" and the number 3 this time. Remember to hold them down for more than 5 seconds.

Hope this helps

Cannot record from cablevision tv

the government required a chip to be put in the recorders to maek sure we are not pirates
in addition the movie people put a flag of some sort across their signal prohibiting us as well

that law was overturned - as you all know we can make copies for personal use - not for sale

however - it is difficult to figure out which ones have it and which ones don't - and which movie companies are not flagging the recordings

Sony is clueless they are a joke -- i asked about the chip and they never, ever answered my question -- avoided it like the plaque

it is archaic - but i suppose we'll have to carry around an old vhs when we want to watch those premium movies that WE PAY FOR !!!!!!!!!
