I would say you are not getting any water flow since the water dissolves the tablet.

When starting it listen for the water valve opening and open door and see if there is any water.

If not it is probably the solenoid or a defective or blocked water valve which is not opening.

A couple of times I've found that the dishwasher tablet I'm using (Finish) hasn't dissolved correctly. I found it in the cutlery box the last time. I've been putting it on the 65 degree...

I am guessing you are using the Centigrade temperature scale ... which would be 149 degrees F. 149 is way hot in terms of regular house hold use. Probably just right for a dish washer.

I would expect most tablet detergent would disolve properly at this temperature and with proper water pressure in the machine. You should have plenty of both in this machine. May I suggest you give liquid dish washer detergent a try to see the results?

I went to take out my dishes out of the dishwasher this morning and the tablet was sitting at the bottom of the machine half disolved and most of my dishes weren't washed properly. What is the problem?

1. Check that water enters dishwasher.
2. Check that water is heated, tablet door will then open, this allows the propellor to shoot hot water at tablet to dissolve.

It sounds like you have a water supply issue. If you are on well water the screen in the water valve may be clogged. You can access this, remove it and clean it on most dishwashers. It is located in the valve where the water hooks up to the unit.

GE Triton XL

Try placing a packet in the bottom of the DW and then start a wash cycle ( use the energy efficient cycle that does not use the heater to dry the dishes..).. if it is not disolved at the end of the cycle then your water temp may not be hot enough..Hope that helps..

Whirlpool gold builtin dishwasher

Do not recommend premeasured tablets, usually too much soap. If pre-rinsing dishes use only 1 or two teaspoons of soap in the main wash cup..do not put soap in the prewash cup. Excess soap can cause oversudsing and make the soil sensor think the dishes are real dirty initiating additional wash cycles. Use rinse-aid for better drying performance
