My Amana ARGS7650

Hello: The sensory board behind the keypad has come loose. It just sits there about 1 inch behind the palstic pad.

How do I access it and secure it back so it functions?

Thank you CB

Turn the power off to the range.

If you have the duel fuel model, remove the burner knobs and remove the screw behind each knob.

Open the oven door and reove the four screws that hold the bottom of the control panel to the range.

The panel should pull out and down at the bottom.

You will probably find the ears that hold the board have broken. Some of these models only used two screws to hold the board to the panel, which left two ears that you can put the screws in to fasten it back in place. If all four ears are broken, I have used flat washers under the screws to fasten it back if there is enough of the ear left for the washer to catch.

banker1, I have not recieved a response. If the directions I gave you do not apply to your range, I will need the complete model number. There should be some letters after ARGS7650 and then a string of numbers after that starting with a P. There are over 50 different versions of the ARGS7650 model. I gave the directions that are for the models similar to the picture you have it listed under.

    Thanks/Mike

There must be some kind of technical trouble somewhere. If you are posting more information, it isn't making it onto the thread I can see.

    Thanks/Mike

F7 is permanently on the key pad and the oven is not working. I have disconnected the power so it would reset itself but it did not work.

Hi

Error code F7 means that an error with the keypad has occurred. Usually it happens due to loose ribbon cable on the keypad or the electronic control assembly itself going bad. To resolve this issue first, disconnect the power to unit and then gain access to the back of the clock assembly (Electronic Range Control/ERC). Now unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC, it would be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide and make sure that the cable is not broken and nothing is shorted on the keypad. After this is done insert the cable back and then plug the unit back to check. If the error is still there then the electronic control board should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Have a Frigidaire FEF353bfwc. Getting error message F1 and start button lights up and beeps constantly. What to do? Can it be fixed? and what would you guess is approximate cost?

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
The dreaded F1 error code can be difficult to diagnose but here is the best thing to do
this is from the manufacture of the oven.
F1 Analog to Digital Failure Disconnect for 30 seconds - if display reappears - replace control board F1 Safety flip flop Replace board F1 Shorted keypad Replace keypad Here is a simple test that you can do to determine whether the clock or the touchpad are defective when the display reads F1:

- Disconnect power to the range.
- Gain access to the back of the ERC (electronic range control, or "clock").
- Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire about 1 ½" to 2" wide.
- Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on. Replace any covers removed to gain access to the ERC.
- Turn the power back on to the range.
- Watch for the F-1 and listen for the beep.
- If you get the F-1 and beep, replace the ERC.
- If after approximately 60 Minutes you do not get the F-1 fault, replace the touch pad.

NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock control as one part so F1 = bad clock control.

Warning: If you do not feel comfortable doing this test or making this repair please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

After cooking my whirlpool Electric Range started to beep and shows EO F2. The range top is working ( and range top controls ) but the oven won't shut off and the controls are not working for the oven.

Hello,

Here is what my online service manual for the F2-EO error code says

F2 - E0 Shorted keypad (also called touch pad) 1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock)

I hope this helps

Starts on own F2 appears

Hi,

Unplug the oven for few minutes, say 30 minutes and then turn it on.If the problem persists, you need to replace keypad. This is a quite easy repair. You would take the grill off along the top over the door. Once off you should see the screws holding the control panel in place. Remove these screws and remove the control panel. You will now have access to replace the part. Please be aware that the unit stores lethal voltage even when unplugged.

F2 means the touch pad has failed, the manufacturer recommends you replace the touch pad and if this fails to clear the problem replace the control board. The manufacturer recommends this but the problem normally relates to the touch pad. The control board sits just behind the touch pad so is accessible by removing the control panel.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Getting error code E6 F2 and panel goes out - oven beeps and turns off power.

HI. This will be the result of a failed touch pad assembly. Use the procedure below to isolated the issue.

1. Once you have gained access to the touch pad assembly, Inspect the keypad connector for firm a connection. The Key pad will be connected to the rear of the man control board. Check the connectors for a firm connection. Move to step two if the connection is secure.

2. Press CANCEL. If the error code returns after 60 seconds, replace your keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models may incorporate the keypad and control board as one unit. In this case, replace the entire control board (also called ERC or clock).

Beeping noise, says stuck key

F2-E0 - Shorted Touch Pad (Keypad) - Check the connection between the touch pad (keypad) and control board (clock) to make sure it is secure.
Select the 'cancel' function and wait 60 seconds.
If error code reappears then replace the touch pad, or touch pad and control board (clock) if all one assembly.

Keep getting an alarm and F1 signal. I know that is a fault, but what does F1 represent? Is it costly to repair? All four burners work and the oven heats. The first of this week it just started...

Without a model number I can not be as specific as I would like. F-1 means a bad control board and or a bad key control. Most ranges have the key control made as part of the main control board. Some(possibly yours) has a key pad connected by a ribbon to the main control board.Unplug the range. Remove the control console cover to access the oven control. If it connects to the keypad by a ribbon, disconnect the ribbon and plug the range back in to power. Wait up to 1 hour. If you get no beeps and no error, replace the keypad control. If you do get beeps and or a error, replace the main control board. If you do not have a ribbon connector to the keypad you must replace the control board.
