Go into the settings menu, Parental controls, reset parental controls.
Click through the confirmation screens, and then it will give you a
confirmation code and ask you to call Nintendo.
Instead of calling Nintendo, go to http://wii.marcansoft.com/parental.wsgi
and enter the code. Even though it was originally written for the Wii,
marcan's reset code generator will give you a valid code that you can
enter into your DSi to remove the parental control.
For the Wii, if you don't remember your parental control code, you can reset it using a "secret question" answer. Since you bought it from a pawn shop, you probably won't know this either. In that case, you'll have to contact Nintendo Support, they can help you with the problem. Included below is a link to the page where you can contact Nintendo Support. Just scroll down the page and select the "Contact Nintendo" button, and there are step by step instructions from there.
Bring up a screen where the unit asks you to enter in the parental
code. You can either insert a restricted disc, or enter the DVD setup
menu and go to "parental control" under custom setup.
When the screen asks for the code, press the SELECT button, then enter in the code "7444".
The level adjustment under Parental Control dictates the strictness
of the player. The lower the value, the more strict it will be. Either
increase the value to lower the restriction, or disable the lock
entirely by setting it to "off".
Once you have made your adjustments, be sure that the DVD tray is
empty, and press the RESET button on the front of the Playstation 2. It
is imperative the tray is clear of any DVD or game for the unit to save
your settings.

To reset the Parental Codes:
When the screen pops up where you type in the parental codes, press Select then type in 7444. Then you will have to put in a new code then re enter it. it will work for all codes.
