Error Code 2203. This I get when I try to uninstall or install

try : should I remouve it

1- Uninstall all the programes in control panel which you think you don't require
2- delete all leftover folders in program files outspark etc.
3- click start > run > type %temp% and delete ALL the files in that folder
( There will be like 3-4 u can't delete, dont worry about it ) also make sure you uninstall and delete the launchers.
4- Re download the PROGRAME ( INSTEAD of Saving it to DESKTOP, Save it somewhere else Like My Documents, Run it, And there you go problem solved.
At least that is how it worked for me, every time i was having that error i was saving it to desktop, after i did all the steps before and changed the location to my documents, it installed without any problems.

It's long but this should get your problem resolved and I would appreciate a Four thumbs up if it helps you ,If u have connected your printer only through the USB then leave out the last step.

Giving permissions to C:\Program files folder may sometimes be difficult but here is the resolution.
Perform L3 uninstallation.
Delete digital imaging folder from C:\program files\hp folder.
Delete digital imaging folder from registry.
Deleting registry key below:
Registry Path - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging
On completing the above steps
Note: * Do not Restart the computer.
Click Start and type Run command in start search bar.
Right click command prompt and Run as Administrator
Type the following command
Net user administrator /active:yes
The above command will enable hidden account in Vista Operating system. Once enabled,
Restart the computer.
Once Restarted, "New user account will show up on logon screen called "Admin" and no password required."
Once logged in to Admin account
Reinstall the software.
After successful software installation, Please use the below command to disable hidden account feature
Click Start and type Run command in start search bar.
Right click command prompt and Run as Administrator
Type the following command
Net user administrator /active:no

1.uninstall the complete HP software, run windows clean up utility
2.under msconfig, disable MSconfig's sevices(non microsoft)

This could be issue related to Service pack, Windows Installer and also with Admin rights on the PC

I tried all the "decent" uninstall solutions like running HP's Level 1-4 Uninstall batch files. HP's installation software still insisted that parts were already installed. Then, with the scanner connected, the installation software got into competition with Windows also trying to install the driver. The reinstallation was no good. Solution Center wouldn't even start, preposterously announcing that it couldn't find the scanner!

When you have a reliable clone of your c:\ drive you can try daring solutions. Such as this:
1. Search the c:\ drive for files and folder with "Hewlett" or "HP" in their names. Kill them all.
2. Search the registry for keys with "Hewlett" visible or buried. Kill them all.

After 1 & 2, reinstallation worked smoothly. And my computer still works! The only evidence of the violence is an undeletable file 3963d.rbf now in c:\Config.Msi. I will report back if serious computer problems arise.

The point is that manual uninstall is possible and none of the elements are in hidden places. Someone else can determine whether both file and key deletions are necessary and exactly which ones.

Editing the registry is risky. Use these instructions at your own risk.
First do a normal uninstall of your HP printer
If you have trouble installing officejet j4580, you may need to edit the registry and remove all HP items. Make sure you first go to control panel and delete all installed hp printers. the bus settings may be the settings that have been changed by roxio, if you havent uninstalled the previous burning programme. Try uninstalling any burning programme you have, restart the pc and install the programme you require. If it continues you may need to uninstall the drive, by way of :- my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager and look down list to dvd/cdrom drives and click '+' sign to your dvd line and right click and uninstall. Restart pc and it will automaticaly install again, ready for use.
