Change door handle rvm1435 - Hotpoint RVM1435 Microwave Oven

If you repair a door assy. you are required per DHHS rules to perform a leak test on and around the door after such repair.

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screw(s) you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.



In some cases, you then have to gently rotate the handle to unlock it.

The door is probably out of adjustment. Remove it from the power source.
Remove the top cover and examine the door catch housing. There usually are a couple of screws clamping this in place, loosen the screws, shut the door and tighten the screws.
Finaly, check the hinge for clearance, (No more than 1/10th inch), and adjust as needed.

bru the front internal cover snaps off. you need to stick a screw driver in the edges and pry it apart being very careful to not snap it or bend the outta metal frame undo the handles screws and replace as before but in reverse

This seems to be a defective door/interlock switch. There is a minimum of three interlock switches inside the oven that operate by the catches on the door. By opening the door or slapping it you are causing the to make connection.

Hello :

It could be bad door switch or loose door switch mount . There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly .

WARNING : A microwave oven is capable of giving you a serious electrical shock, even when it is unplugged. I strongly recommend you seek the assistance of an appliance repair technician when conducting any microwave oven repair .

The main controller board, or one of the power supplies has failed and require to be replaced.

You should take the microwave oven in for an estimate. I strongly suggest to not service this type of appliance yourself unless you are trained and experienced in microwave oven service.

There are many safety issues when servicing microwave ovens.

replace it with same current rating and voltage rating.just unscrew the case.

Model RVM1435 does not have a feature to turn off the beeper.
