You need to connect the Audio Output from your TV (if it's got one) to the Audio Input on your Home Theatre.
You then need to change the TV settings to select the Audio Output instead of it's speakers and change your Home Theatre settings to select the Audio Input where you've made your connection.
The coaxial digital cable is a standard RCA plug. For years I've used standard RCA cables and even extenders and Y-cables to share outputs with no problems. Don't pay extra for so-called special cables.
By the looks of it, the only output you can use from the tv will be using the 2.5mm jack plug headphone socket, get a cable to convert this into twin phone (red/white) for stereo sound to your amplifier. (they are very cheap £2 or so) The Home theatre system should be able to give you a psuedo surround but you wont get full surround.
remove all speakers and turn it on if it still displays protect (and it probably will) the damage is done. could need a diode or an output ic. not a diy job.
