Maybe your file permission is read only. Go to my computer, browse your file. Right click and choose Properties. Uncheck the Attribute

My usb cant save a file anD delate a file because of a write protected? A BRAND OF KINGSTON

USB drives can be write-protected by modifying the StoreageDevicePolicies Registry key and WriteProtect Registry value.
click Start>run>regedit to open Registry Editor. and press control+F to open the find dialogue box and type "usb device" or "driverdesc" to open usb mass storage device or type "usb mass storage device" in the search windows. And right click on it and delete. This will set the policy value to 0. then insert your usb device. It will work fine.
# Remember: do not delete any unknow files in the registry as this will make some programes not work as usual.

If you are running a Windows XP OS then you might be able to:

- click start right click on my computer select open
- Right click the icon of your Flash Drive (It should be F:/ or something)
- Click Properties in the menu that comes up
- Click the Sharing tab
- Click permissions
- And finally, click Allow next to Full Control.

hope this helps

Cannot save a word 2010 file due to permission error

> permission error

Change the "target" folder to your 'My Documents' folder, since Windows gives you permission to write into that folder.

I am not able to backup error code is 80070005 my os is windows vista home basic

In order to find the root cause of this issue, we need few more information.

a) Are you performing a complete PC backup?
b) Do you have complete file permission to the files you are backing up and to the destination you are saving the back up?

As a workaround you need to follow the steps provided below.

Check the permissions of the file or of the folder the file is saved in. Here's how:
1. Right-click the file or folder, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Security tab.
3. Under Group or user names, click your name to see the permissions you have.
To open a file, you need to have read permission.
Check to see if the file is encrypted. Here's how:
4. Right-click the file, and then click Properties.
5. Click the General tab, and then click Advanced.
If the Encrypt contents to secure data check box is selected, you need the certificate that was used to encrypt the file to open it.

Inability to "save" on one of my 2 memory sticks.

You have probably just filled the memory stick.  or set it to read only.  does it have a little switch on it's side?

Will not let me save a file and reads file permission error

I think for some reason there is a limit to the number of files (nb: number of files not amount of space used) that the root directory can handle. Try making folders and moving files into these to cut down on the number of root directory entries.

File permission error when saving in Word 2007

This error occurs when you are in a domain, and the files came from other users.

What you can do is right click a folder or a file > properties

look for the security tab then, add everyone on the list. And make sure that you check full on the permissions.

you can get back to me if this doesn't work.

Get 'file permission error' when I try to save in Word.

This error means you dont have suffecient priviledges to save. It sounds like you need to be logged into an Administrator account. If you are, Right click the icon for the flash drive, And click Run As Administrator
