Why is Cora an American?

Between the 1870s and the outbreak of WWI in 1914, hundreds of wealthy American women visited England and Europe to marry aristocrats. The earliest American heiresses married impoverished aristocrats because they were snubbed by American high society, but the later heiresses wanted titles and to mingle with European royalty. Cora was born to Isidore Levinson, a dry goods multi-millionaire from Cincinnati. She arrived in England, with her mother, in 1888, at the age of 20, and was engaged to Robert, then Viscount (pronounced vie-count) Downton by the end of her first season. It is not that remarkable that she is American. Britain still welcomes the odd American to its shores.

Who invented the telephone

Alexander Graham Bell is the first person to own the patent but recent discoveries are likely to prove that Antonio Meucci was the actual inventor. Bell is however still highly recognised as the inventor.

What is the importance of music in human life. what is the condition of music in the contempatrary world.

In the field of music there is much to be explored, and the psychological influence of music seems little known to modern science. According to modern science we are taught that the influence of music, or of sound and vibration, comes to us and touches the senses from without. But there is one question which remains: The real secret of the psychological influence of music is hidden in its source, the source where sound comes from the inner experience of music and how it interacts with the sounds coming from the external world music and its influence has been noted in all human societies and that it is known for its ability to put people in good moods, move them to tears, make them want to celebrate and just generally move them emotionally in both negative and positive ways.

What is photoshop

Adobe Photoshop™ (or Photoshop) is a graphics editing program developed and published by Adobe Systems. It is the industry leading program for bitmap and image manipulation software.

The first version of "Photoshop" was a simple program created to display grayscale images on a monochrome display on Macintosh systems. At this point the program was simply known as "Display". Display was programmed and developed by Thomas Knoll. Eventually the program caught the attention of Thomas' brother, John Knoll. John encouraged Thomas to develop the software into a full fledged image editing software. In 1988 Thomas and John took 6 months to develop the program which they now called ImagePro. Later during that year, Thomas renamed the program Photoshop.

John later met with engineers with Apple and the art director of Adobe to discuss the product. In September of 1988 Abobe purchased the license to distribute Photoshop. The first version of Photoshop (Photoshop 1.0) became available in 1990 exclusively for Macintosh computers

Need phone number

The very first telephone-number was '1'.
______________________________________

May 10, 1877 -- President Rutherford B. Hayes installed the first phone in the White House. He called it, "one of the greatest events since creation."

For the first phone call, Hayes rang Alexander Graham Bell who was sitting in a room 13 miles away. The historic words that Hayes spoke are words that have reverberated throughout the ages to politicians and public officials all over the country. He said, "Please speak more slowly."

President Hayes embraced the new technology, though he rarely received phone calls. In fact, the Treasury Department possessed the only other direct phone line to the White House at that time. The White House phone number was ?1.?
