How to drain the washer dryer

Could anybody please tell me how to set the machine to "drain only"? (ie what number on the dial should I turn it to?). The machine has an inch or so of water sat in the bottom! Thanks.

Try the rinse cycle. Rinse typically operates the pump to drain water from the barrel.
Hope this helps!

Repeat what you have done and see if any wires were accidentely removved specially of the water level sensor. If so connect them once again . remove the plug from the power and reset the machine holding down pause with power plug in..
Checck tthe drain valve once again if the wires have shorted

My roper top loading machine washes but will not advance to rinse it fills up but drains immediately after.

Hi,

Please power cycle your washer (ie unplug power for 2 minutes before powering on again). Then, you can move your dial counterclockwise (or opposite the direction that you currently turn your cycle-setting dial) by 90 degrees. Then, attempt a full cycle again. This should help somewhat reset your cycle functions so that it works properly.

Thank you.

Lsq9650pw2, serial number cs1503603, whirlpool extra care system plus. Top loader. Put load in started filled up with water but will not drain. No spin or drain. Nothing else works

I don't think your going to like my answer but before you call the repair man can you get them to go into the cycle by turning or engaging the cycle on a direct mode. IE turn the dial/push button to spin mode and see if that works. If it doesn't work, check the drain to make sure it is clear. If it doesn't work then think you will need the repair man. One other thing, some of these new washer have load sensors and level sensors in them so if the load is off centre or the the washer is not level it will not engage. You could also wait for awhile and see if you get a better answer, will admit that washers and dryers are not my strong suit.

Washer wont drain showin IE

Sonia, you either have a failed drain pump, or something has bypassed the filter ( bobby pins are notorious for this ) and is jamming up the pump impeller. If you can set the washer to drain/spin and can hear the pump running, you most likely have a impeller that has broken off of the pump motor shaft and will need to be replaced. If you cannot hear the pump running, and can hear a slight humming noise, then there is something jammed in the pump. The pump can be removed and cleared of the possible foriegn object. I can provide instructions on pump removal if needed.

Turn it on...no water?

Well it turns out that the pipes were not properly connected...however, I think the machine is very confusing anyway. This is my understanding of the Malber WD 1000...at this point in time. I've only used it once. The first dial (on the left) has to do with how fast you want to spin the clothes...I set it at 600 and that seemed to be fine for perm press. The second dial has to do with the temperature...I am still confused...it is the temp of the wash or dry? Its just darn right confusing. The third dial has to do with starting the wash. I put it on 3 for perm press. Now I wonder, if I turn it to 5, delicates, will it still go straight into dry mode? As a woman, I have a lot of things I dont like to dry, so if anyone figures this out before I do, please tell.

Washer dryer sticks on j cycle does not spin or drain

check no foreign object stuck in pump impellor and that it turns freely. if that is ok then check continuity thro drain pump. if no muiltimeter, try connecting drain pump to mains direct to see it works

Dry cycle

Try setting the washer dial to the stop setting at the end of setting number 4 then set the dryer timer and turn on the machine.  This works for mine to get the dryer to run by itself.  It should begin about 30 seconds later, when the door locks.  Hope this helps.

It sounds like you could have a couple of issues going on here. First of all, to answer the question about stacking the units; there is a mounting kit that you are supposed to use to place the dryer on top of the washer. The top is supposed to come off the washer to accomplish this. There are a couple of brackets to install and the dryer is supposed to mount to the washer with a couple of screws. Your local appliance store should be able to provide this for you. All you need is the model number of the washer and dryer. If the timer is only working on one cycle then you may have a bad timer. But...before we go jumping on that bandwagon...you mentioned that the washer is not filling and the water just keeps running out. This sounds like a problem known as "siphoning". If you have placed your drain hose in the standpipe in a manner that does not provide an air gap for drainage, the washer will not fill and will continue to "siphon" water from the machine as it tries to fill. If the washer cannot fill, the pressure switch will not shut off, and the timer will not advance any further. Double check your drain line to make sure you do not have it shoved too far down in the standpipe (3" to 4" should be sufficient). If the drain hose is sitting in the drain trap where the water sits, there's no air gap. Also, make sure you do not have the top of the standpipe sealed for any reason. Once again, you need an air gap in order for the water to drain properly. Let me know if this helps you.
