When i hit return, why doesnt the carriage go all the way back

Try spraying a little WD40 on the silver shaft that the carrier slides on if that doesn't do it you will have to spray the bearings on the carrier motor located in the R. rear corner inside the case.

It is possible that your carriage ahs a bind in it. When you turn on the machine does it go all the way to the left and then jump back to the margin? If you tab all the way to the right, does the carriage make a screeching sound when you hit the return? If this happens, your transport motor may need to be serviced as well as the carriage rails and bearings in the carrier.

You may want to just replace the engine. If the main bearings are wore out the rest is close behind.

Hp designjet 500plus ,first time i change carriage belt ,but now it shown allignment error..

Two thing you need to check:
1. Are you replaced genuine carriage belt?.. Original belt having two type of inner tracks.. Right side horizontal & left side vertical tracks. Are you fixed it properly or not..
2. Check carriage assembly play.If it is over play(carriage bushes may be warn out) alignment won't complete, If bushes are available in your country replace them & do the calibration..If not go down how to alter bush. see the snap shot
3. While carriage movement pl check trailing cable flexibility.
Carriage Bush:
Note:This modification only professional not for users:
Un screw screws both sides as shown in fig, take out bushes estimate how much warn out happened.
Thing needed:
Fevi quik(glue),small peace of miler sheet, scissor & tweezers.
Cut miler sheet in to small peace & insert warn out place of bush(between bush & rail) & apply glue, fix it permanently,do it both sides & check for the carriage play.. once its finished try for alignment.. For this activity no need to remove carriage assembly from the rail. Main aim is alter bush warn out..

Error 03130031 - 2F13

Error 03130031-2F13
1. Check for abnormal carriage drive load

a. Faulty carriage idler pulley (broken spring hook, dropped belt teeth)
b. Faulty linear encoder sensor
( soiled or flawed linear encoder, or improper mounting position / tension )
c. Soiled carriage rail ( unlock the purge unit and move it by hand)
* Never oil the carriage rail!!!
d. Improper carriage belt tension
e. Foreign matter inside the rail (cutter, cleaning brush, bearing out of position)

2. Check carriage motor drive at electrical fault

a. Drive signal / voltage error
Check main controller J3101-1 for 32v during initial operation at start up
b. Upgrade firmware if it is v1.31 or any earlier release
c. Poor connector contact / wiring
d. Faulty motor (replace the carriage motor and / or the main controller )

If the error occurs before the start of printing, the main controller is most likely faulty.

The problem is reported to have occurred as a result of a faulty cutter, depending on the version of firmware.

If Replacing the Print head does not resolve the problem. Try re-seating the Flex Cable, cleaning the Linear Scale and the Carriage Rail may clear the code.

Bushings in Carriage Unit get lubricated in the factory.
* Never oil the carriage rail!!!

1999 2.0L TD Suzuki vitara the clutch pedal was low and grumpy when pressed and hard to select 1st or reverse. plenty of movement in clutch slave arm and no fluid leaks to be i removed the gearbox...

Pilot bearing (pressed into flywheel) or release bearing (presses against clutch pressure plate)?
Regardless, the repair is the same. Replace clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing & pilot bearing. Most flywheels are available or as part of a complete kit, minimum is to inspect & resurface flywheel when replacing clutch assymbly.

Carriage Bearings are Bad

Here are 2 links for Heim. If you can't find what you need, try an industrial supply cross reference. A good bearing supplier should be able to match you up with measurements as well as numbers. Check with the maintenance supervisor of a local manufacturer to see where they get their bearings.

This error code is a Carriage motor error. Below is the outline for what to check and what to repair/replace. Good luck.

This is displayed when a jam or other physical problem puts an excessive load on the carriage motor so that the carriage could not operate.
This is displayed when the carriage motor could not reach the prescribed speed within the prescribed time.

Probable problem locations
Foreign object in carriage movement path, carriage rail, carriage belt, linear scale, linear encoder, carriage motor, engine controller, system controller

1. Carriage movement path check
Remove any foreign objects (jammed sheet) in the carriage movement path.
2. Carriage rail
Use rail cleaner to clean the carriage rails if a visual check reveals that they are dirty.
3. Carriage belt
If a visual check reveals slack in the carriage belt, remount the belt.
4. Replace the linear scale.
5. Replace the linear encoder.
6. Replace the carriage motor.
7. Cable connection check
Replace the cable between the carriage motor and engine controller if the connection is not functioning normally.
8. Replace the engine controller.
9. Replace the system controller.

How to oil/lubricate an old Olympia AG/SM ? typewriter

Hi..sewing machine is ok, a little too light but ok. Move your margins all the way out so that you carriage can move its full length.
If you look at the underside of the carriage you will see what they call Rails. These are tracks in which the ball bearings reside. 4 or 5 drops of oil on these and the bearings will be lubed. I use a little heavier grease not oil, but light oil. Too much oil is worse than none.
I think you problem is in the carriage return clutch..something that should be handled by a Pro.. Too many parts, springs and broken adjustments for the layman. Some times you can spray 1..I repeat 1 small shot of degreaser on the carriage return clutch (located on the right side, middle of the typewriter. Usually has a fabric band winding around it.
If not a Pro can help you..
Hope this helps.
