I have a Westinghouse Freestyle, fan forced oven Model NO 688.

GET A GOOD FLASHLIGHT AND LOOK IT OVER.

Check the house circuit breaker for the oven. If 240 isn't present, everything else will work except the heating element. The circuit breaker will have it's handles joined so if one trips they both trip. Unfortunately, this doesn't always work, Meaning one can trip without tripping the other so only 120 volts is supplied to the oven.

Sounds like something has happened to your on/off switch that has caused contacts inside to stick in the on position. You will probably have to have it replaced.

sorry their is no simple fuse for what you are writing about, you may just have defective heat elements.or open thermal switches. and they are not easy to check

Without the model number I can only give you basic information. If you are refering to the Glow Ignitor located in the center bottom rear of the oven concted to the burner tube, then this Ignitor could be bad and most tech's will change it first.

Even if it is glowing does not mean it is good.

For more detailed information please include as much information as postible and the Make and Model # off the machine.

Always unplug the machine when trying to service it.
