This is controlled by the Split and Swap buttons on the remote; the size of the second picture can be adjusted with the Aspect button. First press split and use the Input button to select the source of the right picture of the split screen (TV channel or video inputs). Then press Swap and use the input button to select the source of the second screen. Swap again if desired or press Aspect to change the size of the main screen window. However, it is not available if you are using the HDMI, PC and SD Card viewing mode. Since the TV doesn't have dual digital tuners, you can't watch two different digital channels on the split screen.
This is not clear enough either you set up dual screen mode or your screen broke and displaying a line across the screen which most likely either bad cable connection or something broken. If it is a dual screen mode than you have to right click on desk top and go to properties and modify it to single screen.
better to use 1 video card with dual output, you can split the monitor - separate or different applications on each monitor or you can also extent the application window to the other monitor (useful for spread sheets, applications with timeline, etc.)
Dear friend the black screen you see is the Dual NTSC Tuner Built in with Split Screen PIP, and the only way to disable it is by looking in to the user manual if you don't have it you can download it from the Samsung website, here is the link: http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/productsupport/download/FileView.aspx?cttfileid=221661&type=TV&typecode=200100&subtype=Plasma+TV&subtypecode=200102&cmssubtypecode=&model=HP-P5031&filetype=UM&language=
