Picture darker/less color/smaller until warm up

Seems something is wearing out & I'm trying to decide to bury it, repair it or upgrade. It's been a great TV but I don't want to kick a dead horse. The description pretty much sums it up. It's taking longer to "warm up" and get a good picture. The color is mostly dark/brown when first turned on. The picture is also less than full screen. After maybe 15 minutes from turning it on we're back to a normal picture. We've done the advanced convergance which helped sharpen the picture & color but the "aging" problem still exists. I'm wondering what might cause this and what an estimated cost would be. Do I say goodbye to my 8 year old friend or say good buy to a nice new plasma or LCD which I'd prefer to put off for a few years?

Hi there!
Have you checked for dust on the Tubes and mirror? This may cause a bad picture quality. Also power supply related problems like capacitors can cause a dark picture. Try replacing some of them in the power supply area and line stage. Also adjustments in the service mode, but for this you will need the service manual. Good Luck,JUS004

How can you make your nose look smaller with make-up?

Use concealer on the bridge of your nose and use a power on top... I saw it on Oprah.
Use an eye shadow that is a little darker than your skin, and put it on the sides of your nose to make it look thinner. An eyeshadow with a slight green tint will help minimize the appearance of depth around the edges, thus creating a smaller appearing nose.

Buy a thing of powder that's two or three shades darker than the powder you put on the rest of your face, and brush it on the sides of your nose.

I used to do make-up and costume design for theater. The advice above is spot-on: you want a color a few shades darker on either side of your nose. To make your nose look even thinner, use a color a few shades lighter than your skin right along the top of your nose, down to the "ball" --the part that sticks out the most. If you're trying to create a curve to your nose, ie, make the bridge seem like it sticks out less, use the same color that you used on the sides and blend it--gently!--over the bridge, then apply the highlight color just to the ball and blend thoroughly. Less is more here: in Theater, we heap the makeup on so that the audience can see it under the bright lights. In the real world, you want to go very easy on it. If you use too much, or too dark a color, your nose will just look dirty.

Make sure the foundation and concealer you use is matt making your nose appear less shiny and less attention will be drawn to it, also make your eyes, cheeks stand out that way the attention will be drawn to your nose. I have a fairly large nose and just for the past year what I've been doing is taking blush, and rub it gently up and down the nose. but don't touch the sides at all, this will make your nose appear thinner and more narrow than big.

Added an illustrating related link. It's easier to understand by seeing a picture or video.

Another way is to draw attention away from your nose, all you need to do is to apply more make up to your eyes.

TV picture is unstable until the TV warms up. This is taking longer and longer. Picture gets large, small, large, small... Quality is also lacking until it is warmed up. This is a Phillips 60'' Is this...

What model and brand is your television?
Is it a CRT type or DLP?
If picture is getting smaller then larger, and its a crt rear projection television sound like you have bad connections around the Flyback transformer and or horizontal circuits. This usually happens when a connection is made on the circuit board and the picture returns to normal especially during a cold start, but as the television warms up the connections on the board start to seperate and the problem starts occuring or it could be in the reverse process. Unstable at first then when tv gets warm it make better connections. All in all have a technician check the HV section of your deflection board.
