Question about Samsung SGH-d807 Cellular Phone

2 Answers

Samsung D807 Buttons on the top portion of keypads have stopped working - it's a slider, so the numbers on the inside are working still. Spontaneously stopped working (of course 1 month after warrenty ended). It began with the silver button in the middle stopping, then now all buttons on the outside no longer work. Samsung says I can pay them $70 to fix it. I would like to fix it myself - any suggestions? If parts are needed, where can I buy those parts? THANK YOU!

Same problem with mine! The background is messed up too though. It's cut in two and it's also backwards. When I slide it open, however, the screen turns white.

the exact same thing happened to me two days ago all the buttons except the numbers dont work and my warranty expired 2 months ago, so now i am stuck with having to get a replacement phone through insurance.

I had the same problem my background stopped working all the time, then it jsut stopped working. The vibration had been going in and out of commission for a while. THe other day my screen did the whole "cut in half mirror image/white screen" ordeal. So i did some research. On another site, i saw a guy say that the slider has a "ribbon tape" that operates the top half. This eventually gets wore out, thus causing the same problems.

There's the link. He says its a fixable problem, for cheaper than what it is to get it repaired, but that it was a risky enough operation that he vouched ot go ahead and have it repaired.

I myself loved this phone, it has it's problems, but i liked it, now though i have no choice but to get a replacement...

Buttons on face plate dont work

May not be a solution to this problem in particular but get on ebay and find a new flex cable for like 6 dollars. The flex cables in slider phones break down or come loose easily. Usually this causes your screen to turn white. In your case the buttons have stopped working. It may be another problem altogether. So try replacing it, its cheaper than buying a new phone or taking it to a shop. Hope it helps!

I have a samsung sgh-d807 that I took apart to repair the slider. When i put it back together everythings works fine but there is no signal at all.

did u replace the sim
sounds crazy but people do forget
failing that, put a sim in from a different network,,this should say card not accepted or simcard not alloweed
then replace with yor normal one
this CAN sometimes force your phone back onto the network
