Hi, to every one. I need to disable a dial tone from my laptop modem to make a data call to plac from omron. When i call from local because the sound is one tone, it dial but when i call from standard...

WELL I SOLVED THEE PROBLEM BY INSERTING A "x3"AT COMMAND IN THE MODEM ADVANCED SETTINGS, AND I MADE A CALL FROM STANDARD PHONE LINE.

THE IDEA WAS THAT I MAKE A BLIND CALL, TO PLC VIA GSM MODEM. THE ATX3 COMMAND MAKE BUSY IF THE LINE IS BUSY OR BLIND CALL IF LINE IS FREE.

WELL THAT'S MY SOLUTIONS,

Acer aspire 9410, cannot connect to the internet using dial-up

You have two different devices here. A modem and a wireless network adapter. Two totally different devices. It sounds like the modem quit working but the wireless network adapter still functions. I'm assuming that the modem is built it. If you absolutely have to have it you could buy a PCMCIA modem if your laptop has a PCMCIA slot to plug it into. You could also have a corrupted modem driver.

My acer laptop is not getting a dial tone but the phone line is good. If the modem is bad, where is it located on the laptop?

Hello flubber20054,

The modem settings can be accessed through the windows control panel as follows:

•Opening the Control Panel
The Windows Control Panel can be opened by:
Selecting *Start > Control Panel (on Windows Vista)
- OR -
Start > Run > Type 'Control' and select OK (on Windows XP)

In the Control Panel, do the following:
•Select Phone and Modem Options (Brings up the phone and modems properties sheet)
•Click on the 'Modems' tab
•Highlight the modem's name
•Click the properties button
•Look for the words 'Device Status' on that page.
If the message box says 'This device is working properly' then the modem is working ok. The Phone and Modem Options also has a tab called 'Dialing Rules'. The dial tone might work if you 'Edit' the existing Dialing Rule or Create a 'New' Rule. When you 'Edit' or create a 'New' rule, enter the requested information as best you can. You can always go back and 'Edit' the rule to keep testing it. I hope this gives you some ideas for resolving the dial tone problem.

No Dial tone using Symantec Winfax Pro 10 on Windows 98

Check the physical connection of the phone line to the computer make sure that it is connected to phone line symbol of the Ethernet adapter. Then make sure that the driver of the adapter is installed properly on the computer or you can try to scan the hardware first before the re-installation of the driver using the adapter.

Computer modem and dial tone

Hello Mikenrgrsvll

This problem can be due to the software not handling a certain dial tone rather than a specific hardware fault. Around the world there is a variance in the signal quality of the dial tone which causes a report of no dial tone detection. Disable the dial tone detection to prevent the system from trying to detect a dial tone.
Disabling dial tone detection for modems:
Windows XP
  1. Click Start
  2. Select Control Panel
  3. Click Switch to Classic View to change the control panel view
  4. Click Phone and Modem Options
  5. Select the Modem Tab
  6. Select the installed modem (Example: Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR)
  7. Click the Properties button
  8. Select the Modem tab in the Properties window
  9. Click Wait for dial tone before dialing to remove the check from the checkbox
  10. Select the Advanced tab
  11. Add X3 to the Extra initialization commands field in the Extra Settings box
  12. Click OK twice
  13. Select Switch to Category View to change back the control panel view
  14. Close Control Panel
if this does not work trying re-installing modem drivers.

hope this helps, have a good day.

Acer 56 kbps v.92 modem...i cant install modem

Hello there, sounds to me like a softwere problem. Try downloading the drivers again from the website of the make of the modem. Install them again - if you're getting the same message after, Download anti-virus FREE AVG you can find this at this link for windows: http://free3.grisoft.cz/softw/70free/setup/avg75free_446a965.exe Install this run it on a test see what it says and you may find your problem. if not then you could do a deep clean and fully re-install windows xp - REMEMBER TO BACK-UP ANY FILES YOU WANT TO KEEP BEFORE DOING SO. in the meantime good luck Raverbaby keepin it hardcore!!!!! = (htid) hardcore till i die !
