Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-55WF655 36" Rear Projection HDTV

Sony KDF-55WF655 Sony 55" lcd wega....All the reds are missing...everything is green or yellow.

Intermittent loss of red in picture. No other issues.

Our Sony KDF-55WF655 is 3 years old and is all original.

Tv was working,had a little green tint to it but, of of a sudden i"m getting no power to it, i replaced the fuse but still nothing

Actually, I checked the different inputs, cable, DVD etc. when the red went out, and it was only happening on the cable input.
So, I checked my connections, and the red cable was loose.
Haven't had it happen since I played with the cables(RGB).

Have a look at the bulb as it could be on the way out olny last 2 - 3 years or 4000 hours if your lucky

KDF means it is a LCD rear projection set so you likely have a problem inside the optical engine it uses or the associated box inside connected to and a part of that engine.

You will need to have a technician look at this TV as it sounds like the LCD driver board or the main board is at fault.

Yellow tint

The LCD green or blue inside the optical block is defective now. the optical block is the core of the tv (is the projector inside the unit "expensive"). make sure calling to Sony company and try to see in your particular serial # is covered under an extended warranty for this particular set. or at least ask them where you can get a good autorized workshop close to your area.

I have the same TV and the same problem, I take out the block of colours red, green and blue (the blue colour is broken) and I went to the electronic supplies for ask the price and they don't sell just the little blue mirror (blue pixel), they sell all block for $2,050.00 dollars. It's the price for a new one
