Insignia tv troubleshooting

This step may could depend on the model of your Insignia TV. The following applies to the Insignia 39" NS-39DR510NA17 . For the first time setup, press the Home button on the Roku remote and select the Antenna TV icon. Use the on-screen prompts to scan for channels.

For subsequent scans, press the Home button on the remote. Select the Settings icon. Navigate to Settings > TV Inputs > Antenna > Scan Again for channels. Select Start finding channels and use the on-screen prompts.

To watch TV, you can use the Antenna TV icon. Alternatively, change the TV source to Antenna TV from the TV Input list. Press the Back button on the Roku remote while watching any TV input (including the TV). You can also use the TV's Power/Input button. With the TV on, quickly press and release the Power button to see the Input list. Press and release the Power button as needed to navigate between available inputs.

Set the TV to channel 3

So run it one time and it probably won't bother you again. I had to do that with my cable setup.

Check to be sure that channel is not locked out in the menu.

When you are done, you will rely almost exclusively upon the Insignia hand-held remote controller. You do not especially need to use your tv hand-held remote-controller again.
However, be sure to avoid standing in front of your tv-set to change channels by buttons or knobs upon the tv-set itself. Tuning again upon the tv-set itself will negate your prior tv-setting for either Channel 3 or Channel 4 -- and thereby sabotage your working set-up!

I myself incurred chronic anxiety yesterday (June 13), as I was stunned that the Insignia menu-screen did not appear immediately when I pushed "menu" on the Insignia hand-held.
The only buttons that worked on the Insignia handheld remote-controller were the Power-on for the converter-box and the Power-on for the tv-set.

Make sure the TV tuning mode is set for "cable". This will be somewhere in the TV's setup menus; check your manual for all the details. If it's set for "air" as I suspect it is, only the first 13 channels will be found when connected to cable. Channels 14 and up don't get tuned in on "air". Once you've set the TV for cable, rescan channels and you should have 'em all.
