You run the factory antenna that you have hooked up to your current deck.

How to configure Car stereo antenna?

The configuration of a car stereo antenna depends on the type of antenna that you have in your vehicle. Here are the steps for configuring a few common types of car stereo antennas:
  1. Manual Antenna:
  • Locate the antenna mast and the antenna base.
  • If the antenna mast is extended, pull it down until it clicks into place.
  • If the antenna mast is retracted, turn the antenna base clockwise to extend it.
  • Tighten the antenna base to secure it in place.
  1. Power Antenna:
  • Turn the car stereo on.
  • If the power antenna is not already extended, press the "Power" button on the stereo or on the dashboard to extend it.
  • If the power antenna does not extend, check the fuse and the wiring connections to make sure they are secure.
  1. Amplified Antenna:
  • Connect the antenna cable to the amplifier.
  • Connect the amplifier to the power source and ground.
  • Turn the amplifier on.
  • If the antenna does not extend, check the fuse and the wiring connections to make sure they are secure.
It's important to note that these are general steps and the specific configuration for your car stereo antenna may differ. If you are unsure about how to configure your antenna, it is best to consult the owner's manual or a professional installer for assistance.

  2. Volume control: Make sure the volume on your radio or car stereo is turned up.
  3. Speaker connections: Check that the speaker connections are properly connected and secure.
  4. Fuse: If your radio uses a fuse, check to make sure the fuse is not blown.
  5. Antenna connection: If you have an external antenna, make sure it is properly connected.
  6. Radio station reception: If your radio uses a tuner, check to see if the station you're trying to listen to is in range.

Have a 1996 Toyota Camery. Installed a KDG140 JVC stereo/CD player but the stereo won't work. CD player works great.

If "stereo won't work" refers to you not being able to get radio stations; try your antenna connection behind the radio. The vehicle may also have a power antenna connection(blue wire at the stereo).

The FM antenna is insufficient. I there a way to improve reception? Another antenna that will fit?

To improve reception, use a 75 Ohm outdoor antenna instead of an indoor antenna. Disconnect the indoor antenna before replacing it with an outdoor antenna.

I'm installing an after market radio on my 82 vette, but i don't know which is the power lead for the power antenna. anyone know?

Usually the blue wire from the stereo is for the remote amp and/or power antenna. If you haven't cut off the stock radio plug, I would check into getting a stereo harness adapter for the stereo. Most auto stereo shops can get them.

My car radio just stopped working? cd player works still

if your cd player still works and plays through the speakers, but your radio wont play through the speakers. i would suggest checking the antenna in the back of the stereo. most stereo's wont even play static if the antenna is disconnected. if the antenna is connected behind the stereo go to the passenger side door usually under the glove box is another antenna connection check to see if that one is intact. if that one is it usually means the antenna itself is not tight enough on the body.

How to connect kenwood radio to Toyota antenna relay

Most aftermarket car stereos have a blue wire for power antenna control. Connect the blue wire to your car's power antenna control wire. Also, Crutchfield has nocut connector kits to install most car stereos in most cars, with instructions. You can either buy these kits or Crutchfield gives them to you, free, when you buy a stereo from them.
