Does it have reset button not coming on but is charged

Thanks for the info. Your device has no dedicated reset button like some other Tom-Tom units, but it still can be reset.

To perform a reset, make sure that the unit has a fully charged battery. Charge for several hours if unsure - and make sure the charging light comes on (if it doesn't - it will probably need service) while connected.

Disconnect from charger.

Press the On/Off button to turn the unit on (if not already on) and allow it to start up as usual.

Press AND hold the On/Off button for up to 15 seconds or until the unit turns off.

The GPS should now be reset, and should work as expected when you next turn it on. Good luck!

First, check that the battery is properly charged. To charge the battery, connect your device to the car charger. It can take up to 2 hours to fully charge the battery.

Mainly the problem with this tom tom one is that it comes up with this problem frequently. The solution to this problem is for you to reset your tom tom by holding the reset button for a while, after doing that, it will reset it and it will be able to receive signals.
Solution: Reset the tom tom by holding down the reset button for a while, it will reset it and then it will be able to receive signals once again. To reset: check that your battery is properly charged, by plugging it for at least two hours, make sure the charging light is on. Then you press and hold the power on/off button for about 15 seconds, then it will restart the system for you.
Be sure to have your tom tom in a car or in a outside position where it can receive signals from the satellite.
This should do the job.

the reset button on my 920 is on the bottom marked reset, a toothpick sized hole

Please connect your tom tom to the power adapter first.Get a paper clip and press the reset button under the SD card slot of your tom tom.Reset button is a very small small hole at the back near the sd card slot.Keep pressing the reset button for 2mins and also press the power button till the light comes on.

TomTom is renouned for this type of problem.
try rteinstalling the map data from the source.

try a reset first ( small pinhole on rear) put open paperclip end in and gently push the button inside) if this still fails then data installation is the go

I just had the exact problem as you did. On the TomTom website mentions that you can press the Turn-on button for 15 seconds to reset it. I tried that and it worked. Maybe it'll work for you too.

try charging the tom tom fully and then reset while it is charging. a tom tom will not reset unless the new battery is fully charged which may take some time if you only have a car charger.

Plug it into your computer using a USB cable and press the reset button. Once it resets, keep it plugged in and your computer turned on, until the battery is fully charged. Every so often, charge it. If the battery goes totally dead, it will create problems.

make sure you're fully charged, remove any optional memory cards (depends on the unit) there should be a reset hole, place a straightened paperclip into the hole and press for 15 seconds.
