Re: does not work when cpnnected to the external USB hub....
Make sure your USB hub is working. Confirm by using the with other applications such as connecting your thumb drive or other connections. If other connections will work, then your external hub is okay. Other thing, if your usb hub runs at lower speed than 2.0, new gadgets connection may fail.

USB Hubs are generally a bad idea for big USB devices
for big devices like printers and scanners it is generally rule of thumb to connect them directly to the USB port as USB Hubs share the voltage over many ports and data can be lost if multiple peripherals are using the one port
You would have to purchase separate BVUMD3 devices in order to get multiple extended monitors. Since each BVUMD3 has one DVI port with a USB hub, the DVI port is the only port available that allows video. Using a VGA splitter will not work with our device since each DVI port is allowed to carry only one video signal through to the monitor. You could purchase separate BVU195 devices if you do not need to use the USB hub on the BVUMD3.
Yes, I have a Logitech WEBcam (not the same model) and I use Skype.
After you installed Skype then :- To test if the Logitech QuickCam is functioning, check the USB cable; make sure it is connected properly. Then click on Start - All Program - Logitech - Logitech QuickCam and see if you can get the camera to capture your image/video. If this works then the fault is with the Skype configuration. Sometimes the WEBcam settings drop off and the WEBcam need to be selected again. Open Skype - Tools - Options - Video Settings and select the Logitech QuickCam Also check the Audio Settings for the Microphone THEN click on Save. Avoid connecting the WEBcam to an USB hub.
I found this problem on my computer.
I had connected the Logitech into a USB hub then connected the hub to the computer's USB port. Then saved the configuration in Skype didn't work, every time I opened Skype I had to configure the microphone and video setting in Skype again.
The FIX. connected the Logitech direct into the computer's USB port and configured the Skype - Logitech microphone and video save settings. No more problems
Buy an External USB 2.0 Hub with the 5.0V power supply. I have a TARGUS 4 Port Hub. MY WD2500XMSB works fine thru the HUB, but will not work using any cable (even the one that came with it) when directly connected to the USB port on my computer. The power consumption of passports sometimes exceeds the .5 milliwat rating for the ports and ccause the port power to interrupt (see USB 2.0 specifications). The external hubs with external power have a higher power output usually an can power the passport drives. CW Rumsey
You need to go to the manufactures site and download the VISTA
driver for the camera. Then follow the info below to install
Disconnect the Camera from the USB port and reinstall
the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you
to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud
