Question about LaCie Design by F. A. Porsche 160 GB Hard Drive
My Lacie portable hard drive doesn't load up anymore it gets so far then just starts ticking. I can't understand how this has happened becuase it hasnt recieved any knocks or anythin like that it simple just stopped working. Any ideas?
A ticking hard drive is usually a toasted hard drive.
Sorry for the bad news.
BUT, to be sure it's not the power supply or the case in any way:
What I'd do is remove the drive from the case, download the proper diagnostic file from whoever made that drive. Plug the drive into a computer (internally) boot from the diagnostic disk and run the diagnostic test.
If it's just continually clicking at that point, you're done, it's gone.
