Hi, i need some help. i have taken video clips with my camera and played them back on the camera. there is sound when i play it back but when i download them to my computer and try to play it there is no sound. i know it's an avi file. my media player plays avi files so why isn't there any sound? thank you for what ever help you can give me!
I contacted Samsung today regarding the same problem. Their recommended solution was to download VLC Media Player for Windows from http://www.videolan.org/My which I did.
My default security settings on Vista did not at all like this site. I had to navigate through about 10 different warning messages. However, it did install easily, seems safe thus far and it does playback the videos with sound.
Above link should be: http://www.videolan.org

I also have to same exact problem with my S730.
Man this has been ticking me off for months now. Mine used to import with sound just fine, but then I switched to vista and now windows movie maker doesn't have sound when I import. GRRRR BARK!! When I look in help it shows that audio files do not support .avi in this version. I don't know why and I can can't figure out how to make my camera record in another format or how to get WMP or WMM to accept audio .avi files.
i have the same exact problem
I definitely have the same problem, when sharing photos / video's from the same memory card with someone who had Windows XP then sound played fine.
There's no sound on the playback function on the device either though - but I know I've recorded some!!
