I have little faith that this can be done, as i tried doing it with epoxy - my favorite, never-fails adhesive - and it didn't work. i think if you can get your camera to Nikon, though, they'll replace the whole door with another whose rubber isn't likely to come off. i read someone online saying they took their D2x in for some other repair and Nikon replaced the door without even asking him...whether they did it for free, i don't know, but i'd hope so, since the rubber falling off in the first place is really their fault.

Try to work the rubber cover loose and squirt in a couple drops of gorilla glue and reinstall. If that doesn't hold, try contact cement on both pieces and let dry and reinstall. That will really grab each other in a rather permanent way.

Nikon D2X - P (program) on top screen flashes and camera does not auto focus

Try removing the battery and reinstall it. Make sure the battery is fully charged. If reseating the battery doesn't help, try a new battery. If that doesn't help, contact Nikon support.

When replacing a bad gasket do you glue it on or what is the best way to adhese it to the preexisting rubber... v2240 food saver

Hi jab500...
I would recommend a good adhesive such as 3m Weatherstrip Cement or Contact Cement to glue the gasket in place. Use a small amount of cement, in case you want to replace the seal in later times.
By glueing the gasket in place with cement it will not come loose during use.

Seal on door came off where can I get a new one?

Replacement door gaskets can be purchased at any of the following websites:

The first three websites also have exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying any parts you may need. If the model is correct, the gasket is listed as item 3 under the "Tub and Frame" parts list on most of the parts listings. The part number will depend upon the model number. The model number you provided is not complete.

If you need instructions on how to replace most common dishwasher gaskets, the following link can give you some guidance:

Most dishwasher gaskets are the press in place variety. However, some require gluing in place with a special rubber cement. The glue will come with the installation kit.

If you have any questions, please post back with your complete model number (located around the door edge frame, or door opening). I hope you find this information helpful.

I have a frigidaire front load washer model fwt449gf. What is the best way to get the door safety switch out? The front seal appears to be glued on so that route is not available.

You can carefully pry off the seal with a knife or similar tool, focusing on the glue points which on mine were at the 2, 4, 8 and 10 o'clock positions. I then installed a door lock switch kit which came with glue/cement to glue it back on once you are done, but you could probably use any good general purpose contact cement because the seal wants to stay put on its own.

The seal around the front of the tub has a chunck missing. is this part hard to replace?

If it is a small hole, try repairing it with black silicon glue. Clean the area with alcohol first, and allow 24 hours for the glue to set up before use. If it does need to be replaced, it is glued to the outer drum (inside the cabinet) and also to the door opening in the cabinet. It's not hard, but is tedious to remove the old part, clean the old adhesive, use automotive contact cement (weather strip cement) to coat the rubber and tub faces first, set the boot in correctly (it should be keyed) after an initial drying period, the do the same with the outer rubber and cabinet opening.
