These problems occurs when the scanner is unable to take a copy of the image that you are trying to scan. You can go to settings and run a scanner motor test on the scanner.Just check out the results of the scanner motor test.If the scanner motor test results are positive, then please clen the scanner bed with a cotton cloth and then perform a power drain on the printer.
Now in order to perform a power drain you need to keep the printr powered on n unplug the power cable from the back of the printer. And then press the power button down for 30-50 secs n then release it.Then plug in the power cable n turn on the printer. The scaner will respond. But if the scanner motor test results are negative, then the scanner needs to be fixed by a hardware technician

The problem is the password. Someone that is attached to the printer - their password has changed but it was not changed in the computer.

Remove the toner...

Shake it gently...

Place it back and check if it works...

If the problem exists still , then its time to replace the Toner, because it is something associated with the DRUM of the toner...

KHOW DO I GET THE PRINTER TO MAKE A COPY OF SOMETHING

No make/model, so here's a generic method:
[based on Samsung Multi-function]

Presuming printer is a MF unit:
Place paper-to-copy face down on the flatbed glass.
Close lid.
Ensure blank paper is correctly loaded in feeder tray.
For a once-off direct 'photocopy':
Press COPY on printer .

For copying (scanning) to a file:
Printer on, drivers installed, blank paper loaded, original on flatbed.
At computer, go to Start.
In search-box type in scan
Left-click magnifying glass to confirm search.
You should see Scan a document or picture appear in icon list.
Click this.
A scanning window should pop up:

Copy Output all black

Janson; does this problem only occur if you're doing copying via the auto feeder, or also if you lay the paper in manually? The auto feeder uses a small glass opening to the front (or left) of the main flatbed scan area; if there is an issue with that area letting in light, an all black page would result. If you get all black with either type of scan, but regular printing still works, then you may have a dead scan element. Try scanning something to your computer or to an email account to see if normal scanning still works.

Copier leaves a black line when printing through the top paper feeder. Ok coping from the flatbed

When copying from the feeder the page is fed across a fixed point at the head of the flatbed. Any dirt etc on the glass at this point can present as a dark line running vertically down the printed page. When copying from the flatbed, the scan head is moved down the page so any dirt on the glass will only appear as specs. Try cleaning the glass, especially at the head of the flatbed where the feeder is loading the page to be copied.

I have a Epson cx11 and get a black vertical line down the middle of scans and copies

Check your flat bed and Document feeder scanning glass need to be clean, if any dot or dust in scanning glass of document feeder it will appear a line, check this points first
1- Check printouts from computer or FAX if it is clean problem in scanning section
2- Check using Copying a blank paper using only Flatbed if it prints without any line its problem from document feeder Scanning glass
So solution is clean the Document feeder scanning glass using wet cloth, note careful about wet cloth switch off the machine and clean it

Hp laserjet 2010 prints black line down side when printing scans from paperport 11

I have no idea what "paperport 11" is.
That being said, normally a line down the page when copying or scanning is caused by dirt on the Automatic Document Feeder glass, Not the flatbed glass. It is a thin strip of glass to the left of the flatbed scanner glass. Clean it.

Vertical lines about one half inch apart down center of the page when fed through the document feeder. No problem with fladbed copying or scanning.

If you open to document feeder and look at the glass when scanning via flatbed, just to the left will be a smaller piece of glass. That is the glass used when scanning through the feeder. Clean that glass as there is probably a couple of spots on it.

Not scanning full page

You omitted some details which might help diagnose the problem. For example, are you using the document feeder or the flatbed? Anyway, I'll take a guess here.

Check your paper size setting and make sure it matches the sheet you are scanning. (Letter, A4, Legal, etc.)

If this is not it, then try scanning from both flatbed and feeder and see if results vary. Note that when you use the feeder, scanning is done in a smaller window to the left of the flatbed, so make sure that is clean.

Black vertical lines on faxes sent using auto document feeder

If you lift up the lid on your scanning device you will notice a glass strip about 1 inch thick and then the large area of glass used for flatbed scanning. The 1 inch strip is used for ADF scanning. Because your papper is moving across the glass strip, any dot, smudge or scratch will affect your scanning and cause verticial lines down the page. Sometimes the dot is not visible to the eye. Get some glass cleaner that has alcohol in it and thoroughly clean the glass strip and it should solve your problem. If it turns out to be a scratch on the glass then cleaning won't help.
