Proview PL926Wbi LCD Monitor White Screen

I have a Proview 19" widescreen PL926Wbi monitor.  I have had it a little over a year and I had noticed things going wrong as well.  It started out where when I was on the computer the screen would all of a sudden change colors, like sorta dim.  I would have to nudge the monitor to get it back and it would be fine.  Lately however, I have had some of the same problems the other guys had.  When I first turn my monitor on when I start my computer, my screen stays white.  After about 5 minutes or so, I would shut the monitor off and back on, it would come back up normal.

I read that one guy"Delphiuser" stated he changed the capacitors and had it up for about a day with no problem.  I wanted to know if it worked out.

Have the same problem with two Proview 15" LCD monitor/TV . Talked with Proview tech support that basically told me I'm out of warranty. Would love to fix these myself so I'm interested in the capacitor solution.

I'm having the same problem but now the screen flickers and makes a noise like a fluorescent light bulb trying to come on then the screen goes black. If I turn it off then back on, it continues to do the same thing.

I have a proview Pl926 as well and after one year my screen went black. I started doing research over the web, and found out that there were 100's of people with the same complaint. Stating the Proview is a rip off and there monitors go out after one year. Which is the amount of time of there warrantey. I called the company and they said they would charge me 100.00 to repair it plus shipping cost. I spoke with someone and they told me it probably was the back light and i should change it, I am going to try that first and see if it works. However, i will never order anything from Proview in the future. I brought a samsung and i am very happy with it. The picture is clear and they offer a three year warrenty on the monitor. Just wanted to share my experience with you. Take Care Dreana

White screen when starts, eventually stays white always.

Fixed the problem by replacing 6 capacitors in the power supply. Made a web page with full instructions.

I found in the refuse, a Gateway FPD 1520, 15" LCD monitor that started off losing the screen half-way, losing sync, etc. The "mechanical agitation" method was applied and remedied the problem. Awhile ago, it went to a white screen (or, as it was back in the day- a clean raster). I opened it up and found that the ribbon cable on the left was loose. I applied a series of layers of adhesive-backed foam (the kind you stop drafts in your home with) until it was greater than the height of the metal enclosure to put pressure on the unbehaving connector. It does seem a bit loose and this will keep it snug. Maybe hot glue or other adhesive if it wiggles loose again. Seems to have solved the problem at the moment.

ProView 19" Flat Screen Monitor comes on with

The dark or black picture is caused by a failure in the back light power supply. The problem can be corrected by replacing a few parts called capacitors on the board. Replacing them will require a little soldering but anyone can do it. Here is a link to a page that shows what needs to be replaced.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

White screen comes on when powered on

**Caution. Hazardous voltages inside.
This could be a loose connector inside the monitor connecting the LCD panel. A careful check of these delicate connectors (open, reinsert the cable, close the connector) or remove and reconnect the plugs may fix it. White screen means there is no drive to the LCD panel AT ALL.

Does my Proview PL926WBi 19

Any monitor will work with any computer provided the correct graphics card driver is installed. When you install Vista and you do not install the graphics driver, Windows will default to Generic VGA driver and you will not get the best resolution that the monitor can display.

Sylvania (proview) cl2072b flat panel monitor

Well the first and second paragraphs make me say the Inverter/power board must be replaced.

A white display typically means either your display cable (in your monitor) is loose or logic board is dead.

Either one of these things typically mean take it in for an estimate to repair, and if it's too much, buy a new one.
With your luck I think I might switch to big cheap CRT.

Blank screen with message "mode not supported"

How have you connected the monitor to the computer?
Is it through the vga or the dvi port?
Pls press the monitor menu button and change the mode to vga or dvi depending on the connection that you have now.
You might also get a vga to dvi adapter and connect the monitor to the computer.
