Question about Cuisinart DCC490SA Coffee Maker

Dcc490Sa Help, Suddenly our Cuisinart Grind/Brew 10 cup unit will not go into program brew mode. I can select the time for it to Auto start, but That is all.. I "think" it is a bad switch, but B/4 tossing this unit; thought I should check with someone smarter than I.

My grind and brew will grind the beans and everything, but does not brew even close to the desired 12 cups. Why is it doing this? Is something broken? Stuck?

Maybe you have selected the 1-4 cup option?
If yes, simply push the button to de-select this option.

Need instructions to set the auto to brew. I know how to set the brew time, just don't know how to get it to run auto at that time. What am I doing wrong?

Press and hold the program button till the time flashes. Set the hour and minutes by pressing the hour/minute buttons. After you have the correct start time it will automatically go back to time after a while (may be able to press program again to finish set, don't remember). Press program to turn it on (greeen lite will come on to show it is set).

Hello. Please check to make sure the grinder is assembled properly and the lid is completely closed and snaps shut.If all this isn't right it will make a beeping sound.If that doesn't help unplug it for a few minutes and start over with the time setting etc. If you dont have a manual you can download one at www.cuisinart.com.

you need to run a few pots of straight white vinegar through the machine to clean out the lime build up in the tubes. the first time you do it, after it starts to pump the water, shut it off for a few hours and let the vinegar sit in the tubes. after doing this run a few pots of cold water through before making coffee.

Cuisinart grind and brew--water does not come down

If the water is not coming out of the filter basket, and is instead leaking over the edges, then replace the brew basket.

If there is no water at all, call Cuisinart - those coffee makers have a 3-year warranty.

The part the manual doesn't mention is that, after you have set the program time, you have to press the program button one more time. THEN, set it to auto-on. Also, make sure that the clock is set for AM/PM as appropriate - it will display PM if it is set for PM, and will not give an indication either way if it is set for AM.
