Question about Avaya Lands Phones

Copy settings command #399

I tried to use the #399 command to copy the settings from an existing phone (extension 13) to a new extension (extension 21).

The command asks for the source extension which I entered and then it asks for data. I entered 21 and tried pressing different programming keys to get it to finish the command but nothing seems to work.

Any ideas?

The only thing this will copy is line information. Not buttons.

Are you sure you have the correct extension number for the destination? I may be more than "not progammed correctly" - perhaps it isn't the ext# you think it is. Try Feature*0 then all the keys, especially the line keys, which should give you the extension number.

How to hide files in a jpg photo

1) Take two files -
one which you want to hide and another will be the jpg image(of any size and dimension)to hide that file

If you want to hide multiple files in one jpeg image, just zip them into one file

2) To make the process easy, Copy the above two files to the C:

3) Now open the command prompt (Go to start, Click "RUN" and type "cmd").

4) get to the root by typing cd\ or you can give the path name where the files are located

5) Now type the following command:

copy /b imagename.jpg + filetohide.ext new_image.jpg

6) Now a new file new_image.jpg will be created

7) Double click on the file and it will open the image which you used to hide the secret file

8) To access the hidden file simply change the extension from jpg to orignal extension of the hidden file,

Example: I took an image filename "myphoto.jpg"
I wanted to hide some important word documents so I zipped all the word files and created a zip file "word.zip"
Then copied both "myphoto.jpg" and "word.zip" to c:
Opened the command prompt
Typed the command: copy /b myphoto.jpg + word.zip new_image.jpg
Now I have a new file "new_image.jpg" in C:
When I double click on the new file it shows me the image of "myphoto.jpg"

If I change the extension of new_image.jpg to new_image.zip I can extract the contents of the .zip file

Hi Kym,

It sounds like your phone might be a bit of a lone ranger! Try cloning someone else's phone settings to your phone and see if that solves the problem for you. You can do this by:
Feature **266344
Password: 266344
You should see Terminals and Sets. Press the Show button.
It should ask the for extension number, so enter the extension of someone whose phone is working properly.
Press Copy
It'll say "Copy SystemData" Change that so that it copies subscriber as well.
Press Next. It'll say Copy Single. Press Next
Enter your extension number when it says Copy to:
Once it has finished, hang up and give your phone a try once it has updated.

hi if you wont move command

then try

go to the source dtive

[ example c: ]

then

move filename sorce_address source filename dest_address destnation_filename

example c:\>move text.txt d:

if you wont copy use copy insted of move

if you wont copy/move all files

then

c:\> copy *.* d:

if any problam replay me

I have downloaded a folder to the usb drive and now i have added more files ( pictures ) to the folder. how do i now download the new files o the usb drive without adding the pictures that are already...

open a command window at the source folder
try a DOS command like this,
long line may wrap
replace the [usb*] with the spec for your system,, filespec can be anything, *.jpg *.raw that your camera requires

for %f in (*.*) do if not exist [usbdrive]:\[usbfolder]\%f copy %f [usbdrive]:\[usbfolder]

or you can make a batch file to do the same thing as this is likely to be a repeated task

@echo off
cls
echo Copying New Files
for %%f in (*.*) do if not exist [usbdrive]:\[usbfolder]\%%f copy %%f [usbdrive]:\[usbfolder]
echo New files Copied

M7310 phone buttons

Wow, you should get 2 lines and at least one intercom by default. Lines are assigned in most Nortel systems in Terminals & Sets. Your COPY command is your friend. Just pick a phone you wnat to emulate and copy it to your new set.

Dos Problem

If you are only trying to move your data file, then create the new directory using the cd command e.g. cd test. Then move the file to the new directory either using the move command or the copy command eg. copy test.file c:\test\test.file
Alternatively you should try using the old text editor program in dos to load your file and then save to the directory of your choice. good luck

You are describing two different things. The "speaker 43" is the default code for Busy/No Anser Set. The correct syntax should be Speaker - 43 - 399 - Speaker. That should set CFWD B/NA to VM. Next, if you have a button programmed to call VM, it is probably a speed-dial or one-touch button. It would have to be programmed to dial 399. If that is not working, try calling VM (399) and make sure you can get into the box that way. If that works, but the button does not, press the Feature Key and the button for VM. It should display what is programmed for that button. If it needs to be changed to call VM, the syntax is: Feature - Redial - the button to program - "1" - "399" - Feature.
