JVC S-VHS VCR 2002 model

Worked well until a few days ago. Display comes on briefly if switched on, and tape will thread around the head. However, the tape is then back threaded into the cassete and the cassete ejected. the display then turns off. Tried replacing timer lithium battery and checking no timer function is on. No success...

Do you mean that the power switches off and the tape unthreads because the heads are dirty? when you say blow it out, do you mean it could be dust that is causing the problem? Many thanks... !

SOURCE: vhs tape gets chewed

Dear William,
the rubber belts and rubber capstan need cleaning/conditioning. you can attempt this with alcohol swabs and if you find rubber conditioner (in the past was easy to find in audio supply stores) apply some of this also. if this treatment does not solve, then may need new rubber belt kit. good luck.

SOURCE: Videocassette stuck in Panasonic NV-G50 VHS VCR; can't eject

Generally, you have to take off the cover, and find the motor that drives the cassette loading mechanism, then turn the motor shaft with your fingers (many many times) until the cassette is unloaded.
Usually the moter is easy to get at on top just to the right of the cassette mechanism. However sometimes it is underneath and you can only get at it by taking everything apart. Don't try this yourself and don't take the cassette carraige assembly apart trying to get at the cassette unless you don't plan on using this VCR again.

It look like its a Philips turbo drive the power supply itself can having 1 or 2 bad capacitor(s) a broken intake is the most common part in this drives but it look like powersupply or a dirty mode select switch, but beware on marketing technical differences between the models for ordering parts this is not the rca manual and only to compare to this philips turbo chassis but the most critical parts can be equivalent if click the link on the screen down the picture search for the word processing be patient it should change to Get Manual Elektrotanya for electronics experts

I bought a JVC GR-SXM250u Super VHS camcorder a couple days ago and the picture has horizontal lines flashing in and out so I can't see in the display both in pause mode and in record mode. He said he...

you may have a faulty camera there,,,or the vcr tape may be faulty and has spred some of the tape on the recording head try running a cleaning tape through the vcr first to clean the heads,,then use a new tape (not the old tape!) to try that out,, if its cleans the head up throw away the old tape so you never put it back in this vcr

Tape would not come out.

Not sure on the removal, but if you replace the mode switch the machine might come back to life.

Re: Model PV-4523S

You can try cleaning it with a VCR tape cleaner to see if the pinch roller have build up on there. It could be that the motor isnt feeding the tape up against the recording heads properly and may need an adjustment. If you can take the top cover off, you should be to see what the problem is by the way the tape is being inserted into the machine.

JVC HR-S3901 S-VHS / Switching from TV to VCR no longer works . . .

Ifyou do not see the VCR/TV button switch on the front panel, then its a problem most likly with the firmware in the microprocessor. If you do see the VCR/TV indicator switching in or on the front panel display, most likly a defective RF modulator/switcher or RF antenna pack. You may still be able to get one from like MCM or tritronics or PTS corp can rebuild it for you. I have seen this type of break down many times with VCR's as we used to do hundreds of VCR repairs a day as we did factory service for several companies in the NY/NJ area. Good Luck Please do not forget to rate this thread.
